Jet Blue to fly from Newark...Call for complaints to Continental

I can guarantee that the JetBlue $175 fare is an intorductory offer for a limited period of time that is limited to a number of seats on flights. Why should Continental have to match that?

I really wish the Airlines would get back in the business of making money and not worrying about the low cost carriers. If people want to fly bad enough they will pay the price. I hate seeing all these legacy carriers in the red because they think they neeed to bow to the cheap leisure traveler.

Sorry rant over.

These posts are always amusing in that they are so one-sided: the airlines should refund money to these "loyal" customers because the price goes down. Why do we never see threads from these same "loyal" customers offering to pay the difference in price when the fares go UP?

How very true!!!

For those who purchased Newark to Florida tickets prior to August 2nd and paid the original high fares, you can call Continental and receive a future travel voucher for the difference in price, if you qualify. CO is waiving the change fee 1 time only. Kudos to Continental for valuing EVERY customer. I called 1-800-932-2732 and received the vouchers. Good luck!

This is great to know! We are leaving next week going out on Delta Song and returning Continental on 9/7 since Song stops flying into Newark on 9/5. I originally tried to get a credit for Continental on the price difference and the change fee was $40. It was not worth it. Delta Songs change fee was $25, so we each have a $30 credit.
I also was SO excited that Jet Blue was flying out of Newark. We booked for December when this was first announced paying $69 each way. A week later the fare dropped to $59 each way. I called and they credited each of us (6 people) $10 per ticket - no problems, no fees. What GREAT customer service!!!
