Jet Blue out of PWM

I must have missed this announcement while I was in WDW, but I just read that Jet Blue is flying out of PWM beginning the end of May. I was playing around with flights and the prices aren't too bad. The are comparable to Independence Air when they were out of there. Flights go through JFK. I am pleased to have another option. I love flying out of Manchester, but it is a 3 hour hike for us. Portland is only an hour away.

Yeah we were talking about it here last week, I'm pretty excited about it

The one thing I don't understand though is why it is so much less to book each leg separately (PWM to JFK and then JFK to MCO) than it is to book PWM to MCO...doesn't make sense to me
