Have booked for Nov 1st - Nov 11 2007 and thought that this was an ideal time to go. Missing the UK half term exodus, nice weather and low crowds.(supposedly)

Have now come across something called Jersey week? Is it a Bergerac fans convention?, everyones wears a wooly? or a mass influx from the State of New Jersey?

If the latter any one know when it falls in 2007 and just how busy does it get. Is it a concentration over a weekend or a whole week?

We previously went in February and I worried about Presidents day crowds. This didnt prove to be a problem but it was at a time when the Eastern seaboard was snowed in so perhaps I had a false impression.

Any views greatly appreciated.

Hi - to be honest I cannot comment from experience however I have heard that Jersey week is the few days in November that all the schools in New Jersey have off and the teachers have conferences/meetings so parents take advantage and take their kids to WDW.
So in theory it can be busier because of this, I am sure someone who has been at this time of the year can clarify though.

Hi there,Jonny seems to be spot on as my information is the basicly the same
Jersey week usually takes place on second week of Nov and indeed its because the schools in New Jersey shut down for the Thus and Fri for the teachers to hold their conference but a lot of parents take their kids out of school for the rest of the week and head for Florida.
I am lead to believe that it can be quite busy and is classed on a par with high season.
I have no personal experience of being in Orlando at this time but my information is from a reliable scource.
I hope some one else who has experienced Jersey week can be of more use to you. Just a thought but why not post a thread on the US forums and see what responce you get
Good luck

Hi I was there this year for the full Jersey week and the week before, and although a little busier than the week before, certainly not anything to worry about, in my opinion. :thumbsup2 It is a little busier around this time anyway due to the holiday makers still there for Halloween and the Food and Wine festival, but although the parks seemed a little busier our second week, the wait times on the rides were still fine. Im sure you will have a great time. Infact we loved this time of year so much, I cant wait to go back the same time again some time in the future.

Hope this helps :goodvibes

We usually visit WDW in October/November and have experienced Jersey week on several occasions :)

From my experience I would say that the parks are generally busier for that week, and this is particularly noticeable at the weekend, due to the increased local attendance on those days. During the week itself I wouldn't say it was too noticable and I certainly don't think it is anything like as busy as it is in high season.

Around this time of year there is also the ABC super soap weekend at MGM, and the Food and Wine festival at EPCOT ends. Both these events lead to higher visitor numbers over those particular weekends but if you take account of this when planning your trip you shopuld be able to make the most of the time you have available without noticing it too much :teeth:

We cruised with DCL this year to coincide with Jersey week - and it is indeed parents from New Jersey making the most of a couple of days of school closures. There were so many people from NJ on the ship!

You just have to think of this in terms of it is just one state, and so it's only a proportion of families from that state at the whole of WDW for a week. Even if it is a little busier, I doubt it's very noticeable. Since this is a relatively quiet time to go anyway, I wouldn't worry.

Remember though that (last I heard) New Jersey is WDW's number-one market and the state does have 8.8 million people!
