:welcome:

Hello everyone! Welcome to my 3rd PTR! As cliche as it sounds, let me take this time to introduce my character crew! And get down to some PTR business!

My name is Jaclyn, I am currently a stay at home mom, and I love it. Since I was a little girl I have always loved all things Disney, and since my first WDW trip when I was 9, I was hooked! I enjoy cooking, but I LOVE to bake, jogging- well its really like a jog...walk...jog...walk...walk..type of thing I do, but I try! And I have to do it with the amount of baking that goes down in this house. I also enjoy decorating my home, going to the beach, spending time with my family, and my new addiction is sea glass hunting.

My husband is Scott, he works for a major home improvement chain. He enjoys his job, and works hard, and he takes what he learns from his job and applies it to our home, which is pretty sweet. When he isn't working or tinkering around with jobs around the house, he likes to play video games, watch sports, movies and WWE.
Here we are at Epcot celebrating our honeymoon

And our youngest crew member, is our 8 year old daughter Alanna. Now, I can't classify my daughter as a true tomboy, but she was never a princessy gal. Never really dressed up as one, has watched the movies a handful of times, but has always been drawn to pixar movies. Yup, as a kindergartner she was the only girl dressed up as Mike Wazowski..a punky lil eyeball...not a pretty princess :rotfl2:. She did go through a LONG phase of Lilo and Stitch lol, and would wear a hula skirt in the house. She enjoys soccer, basketball, swimming, and arts and crafts.
Here's our little daredevil last summer body surfing.

We may have a larger crew coming with us, my aunt, uncle, and their 3 boys, and my parents and sister, but they are still trying to decide if they will be joining us on our magical vacation.

We just bought our first home last June, we live in a small town at the Jersey Shore. Thankfully, our house didn't suffer any severe damage from Sandy, just a downed fence and some missing siding. We are so grateful after seeing the devestation just a few blocks away from us, so terrible. But we love it here, love the small town feel, and its so peaceful here in fall/winter/early spring months, especially when you get a nice day to go on the beach.

Due to our purchase last June, we skipped Disney in August, decided to save up and wait for the Fantasyland expansion to be complete. So...we are really excited!!! I really miss the Disney feel and the magic...August can't get here soon enough!!

We're also from NJ, spend a lot of time at the beach, have a daughter in kindergarten (& DS in 5th grade) and will be headed to Disney in August!

Can't wait to read more!

So what are our travel dates you may ask?
We are set to check in on August 16th and will stay through August 23rd. We will be driving from the Jersey Shore to Orlando, which we have done three times already. Alanna has always done pretty well with the drive, I think she kinda looks forward to it. She sits in the back with her DS,DVD player, some activity books, and now that she can read on her own I am sure she will have some Diary of a Wimpy Kid books back there as well. I think, as of now, we are just going to leave super early on the 15th of August, but we'll see. :drive: We also plan on setting aside one day for US/IoA.

Where are we staying?
In the past I have stayed at CBR a few times (which I do LOVE! and will always highly recommend to people), All Stars Sports, Movies, and an overnight at Music, and the Swan. We also did a one nighter at the Holiday Inn in DTD when we arrived earlier then expected 2 years ago. But anyways this year we are staying at....I need a drum roll for this one...:rockband: or a small rockband will do.
We are staying at my dream resort...the resort that I never thought I would ever get a chance to stay in....

The BEACH CLUB!!!
I never thought we would stay here because...heck, I'm not gonna lie *I* am cheap! (O I forgot to mention that I am addicted to couponing as well and won't pay full price for much in life lol) But with the 30% off deal and my husband "looking for a change" and agreeing to it, I thought we would spring for it.
We chose BC because
#1 We love Epcot, I am pretty sure if you were to ask Alanna she would say she liked Epcot over MK...I think there is just so much to explore in WS for her, and like I said, the girl is a daredevil and enjoys test track. So being able to walk over to WS for a bite to eat and then come back to the resort, or the pool, or even high tailing it to another park is a neat option.
#2 The POOL....we didn't even bother with the waterpark passes this year because we figured we could have just as much fun going down the jib slide and having the convenience of our room being right there.
#3 The decor....I'm a beach girl, I will still feel at home. The decor is a little lighter, airy, and beachier compared to YC.
#4 Boat to HS.
#5 Activity at BW.

So we managed to get a decent deal and a dream stay......HEEEEY! :beach:

Hello fellow New Jerseyian!!! What county are you from? When in August will you be heading to Disney? I think I saw in your siggy that you stayed at BC, did you enjoy your stay? Where are you staying this year?

In for your PTR! :)

Nice! We are staying at the BC for the 1st time too! :)

Hey everyone! So glad you join me! Disneychix, when are you heading to BC? I am so excited! I can't wait!!

I'm in too.. I have a PTR going on too. :)

I am so jealous of your stay at BC- We are going in September and staying at CBR so I am excited that said that you liked it too.. We are doing the free dining ( YAYYYYY) so figured that was better for us than the r.d.

Cant wait to read more!

I loved CBR because the food court had such a great selection of items, especially at breakfast. We used to enjoy grabbing our breakfast and sitting outside with it by the water fountain, it was a nice way to start out morning. And your little ones will LOVE that pool and the kiddie pirate pool. That is great that you got the FD, that is why we started going in August bc FD was too good of an offer to pass up, but when they changed it to Sept, I didn't think my DD could miss that much school bc we have to add 2 extra days for the drive down. But I am sure you will love CBR, the feel of the resort is great too, its like a little tropical getaway inside of WDW. Love Love CBR.

I am going to have drop in on your PTR :goodvibes

Every year we usually stick to the places we have enjoyed eating at in the past, but try to dine at at least one new place. My daughter has a severe peanut allergy, we also keep her away from tree nuts as well, so finding safe places or places that are within our comfort zone is important to us. However, for the most part Disney has always been good with my daughter's allergies.

So here is the ADR Rundown....

Fri. 8/16 Teppan Edo @ 4:30pm
Sat 8/17 Captain's Grille @ 9AM
Coral Reef @ 4:30pm
Sun 8/18 1900 Park Fare @ 4:35pm
Mon 8/19 Beirgarten @5pm (This is our new one for the year haha! And I am doing this one for the hubby, he has ALWAYS wanted to eat here.)
Tues 8/20 Ohana @ 8:40am
Wed 8/21- Nothing (tentative US/IoA day)
Thurs 8/22 San Angel Inn @ 4:45pm
Fri 8/23 departing :(

I really don't have a set in stone itinerary yet, but I always make one so we have some sort of idea as to what we have to see and when. We usually stick to it or are pretty close.

So, I have all our ADRs ready, I am always looking for some good CS meals....so whats your favorite CS? And what do you usually get? Favorite snack?

A tradition that we have done our last 2 trips was having Disney Movie Nights. They are a lot of fun and they really get us into the spirit for our upcoming trip. We try to do 2-3 a month. In the past we started much earlier, but this trip wasn't officially booked until they announced the 30% off pin in early May. The idea of the movie night is a themed dinner and dessert based on the movie, then a craft or a game or maybe both based on the movie, and of course a viewing of the movie.

So, at the beginning of last week I threw a dozen or so Disney and Pixar movies into my seashell tube box, a combo of our favorites and some rarely seen ones. Alanna picked out of the box and to start our movie night adventure off, she picked Aladdin...awesome because she doesn't really remember that one and it's one of Scott's favorites...so here we go :). (O and a disclaimer's note, we actually did this LAST Thursday ;))

Our Menu included:

We decided to watch the movie down in the rec room and eat while the movie was on. So I decorated our coffee table with a gold table cloth from dollar tree and threw some jewels from "the cave of wonders" on it.

We had to rent this one from the library because I only have it on tape lol.
My husband is always a good sport with this kinda stuff, here he is modeling his raja hat.

Alanna had to get in on the fun too!

Our "Kefta" Sandwiches (when I looked up the description it sounded like a sloppy joe...I have no idea what it really is, but it sounded close lol, so we had Pioneer Woman's sloppy joes baked in Pillsbury biscuits)

Abu's Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins....which were delish!

Our craft for the evening was Make Your Own Genie Lamp, Alanna just colored her own lamp, we glued Genie on, decorated with some jewels, then I had her write 3 wishes on the top. A fun, easy activity that she enjoyed!

At the end we picked our next Disney movie from the box, which is.....

HERCULES!!!!!!!! Yay! What fun! Neither she or Scott have seen this one, and its been about...10 years since I saw it haha.

When I was at Dollar Tree I also thought of some other cute craft ideas for Aladdin but I just didn't have the time or resources to execute it. Make your own Menagerie for Jasmine. Dollar tree had those craft birds 2 in package, if you had a bird cage or something or got a cheap one from Michaels this could be doable. Make your own Cave of Wonders, dollar tree had all those jewels you could put on some construction papers and glitter glue. Or make Jasmine a tiara using those jewels.

So, we are will more than likely view Hercules this Thursday because Scott will be off. Happy Planning everyone!!!

The movie nights sound like fun!! Good idea!!

My favorite CS are Pecos Bills in MK, Pinocchio Haus in MK, The Land CS in Epcot.... My favorite snacks at Disney are popcorn and getting stuff from the bakery... Can you believe I've never had a dole whip? That has to change this time...

I am so glad you gave me a run-down of CBR. I thought the same, that it would be like a little tropical getaway, included with Disney, what could be better?

What do you usually get from Pecos Bills? Have you ever tried Casey's? DH is wanted to try it this year. It's funny I feel like we really don't eat in MK for some reason haha. We did really like Columbia Harbor House though, that was nice. And I did get a Dole Whip...and you know it is funny because I love ice cream and love pineapple, but for some reason I just didn't care for it. I never did the turkey leg though lol.

I love the kringla pretzel from Norway...yum! O and CBR has awesome cheese danishes, I am hoping that BW or the Marketplace has them @ BC. They are to die for!

Since Scott was off today we decided to continue with our movie nights. Tonight was a viewing of Hercules and we are currently 85 long days away from our Disney Vacation!

Here was our YUMMY menu! I am still pretty stuffed! But it was fairly healthy. I was going to try and do Greek food, but everything I was looking at called for Greek Yogurt somewhere in the recipe, and I have a thing against greek yogurt, to me it always tastes sour. IDK why....but...so we went with other ideas.

Originally I was planning on doing a frisbee toss as an "Olympic Game" but my allergies got the best of me and I didn't think I would be able to handle the pollen, and it was supposed to rain at some point in the day. So instead, we made our own Greek Gods/Goddesses

We have Alannus Goddess of Learning, Aquatica Goddess of the Ocean, and Scottacus....when I asked him what he was God of...he said God of the Gods (go figure!).

Then we had our desserts
Phils Fruit Salad

Zero to Hero Pudding Pie!

and Gold Medal Cookies!

Overall it went well, wasn't a favorite of Alanna's, but Scott enjoyed it. I figured he would, he is into all that gladiator type stuff. Alanna picked out our next movie to celebrate and she drew from the shell box....

THE MUPPETS!!!

Oh yes! We love Casey's too! We ate there our last day lady trip.. My only complaint is there isn't much seating and I think it's slow in there.. :( I have gotten the taco salad and cheeseburger from pecos!! They have a toppings bar that is sooooo good and adds alot of flavor!! You should try it!

I'm in for your PTR too!:thumbsup2

We are heading to BC a couple of weeks before you, August 7th-10th. It is a place I have also always wanted to stay but never could justify it. DS has that lovely CP discount now so we are doing it when we go down to bring him home:dance3: I may be more excited that my 4 kids :)

Love your movie night ideas-they look like so much fun!

We might have to give it a go. What CS do you like @ Epcot? Every year I say I am going to get to Flame Tree BBQ @ AK and I never do, one day I will though lol.

Thanks for joining!!! Its so exciting, I read that the bakery in France opens when FW opens in the morning, I wonder how long it would take us to get there for a pastry in the AM for breakfast haha. Do you have your ADRs made up for your stay?

I am joining in!!
Love your family :) I grew up going to the Jersey Shore (Ocean City to be exact) every summer.
Your movie nights look like so much fun. I have seen others do it. I am going to plan a few. You are so good at coming up with neat menus.

Thanks for joining!! There is actually a huge thread on the family boards that everyone posts their ideas on Disney Movie Nights Thread its has tons of pics too. Your signature is adorable, your boys look so sweet! I see you stayed at AoA, how was it? I hear the food court is great there (Jees...I must have food issues, all my posts include food! LoL) The theming @ AoA looks amazing!

We ate at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot last year and it was super yummy with lots of choices!!
Can you believe I have never eaten there? I think my Dad did last time, he ran in and got Mac and Cheese and I remember him saying it was really good, a lot different from the others on property. Another menu I will have to look at on allears.
