Kona Cafe Our first night we ate at the Kona cafe We started out with wonderful pot stickers..If you have never had these they are Asian dumplings.Yummy The bread there is excellent .It comes with olive oil ,spices and parmesan cheese. Ed and I both had the Teriyaki steak, cooked medium rare...The steak was perfect and the mashed potatoes,or "Mash" as Andrew called them , were incredible..Andrew kept stealing them... Andrew had the scallops and shrimp which he said was very good, although he did like our steak and "mash" better...This was an excellent meal,as it always is

California Grill...I wanted the wine room,as I got it by accident last summer. We asked at check in and they said thy would get us in..They said it would be a 20 minute wait..It was 10...They took us to a wonderful seat in the wine room...When andrew looked at the wine list he realized that one of the wines came from a vineyard his friend in Australia owned...I believe it was a Shiraz..Whatever it was it was excellent.
I wanted the BLT flatbread that I had in August but they did not have it...It was seasonal,so that did make sense.. Instead we opted for the triple cheese flatbead with carmelized onions..This was very good, although I still prefer the BLT one.
We are all Sushi lovers so we got Yoshie's Deluxe Sushi Sampler and the SPicy Sensation...The Spicy sensation is actually warm sushi with a warm spicy red sauce on top...We thought that with 2 order of Sushi we would take some back to the room for later...Not so.It was so good that we ate evert last bite of it.
Andrew and I got the Oak Fired Filet of Beef with Gruyere Mashed Potatoes and ED had the grilled pork tenderloin.. Now ,I need to tell you that my friend Andrew is used to fine foods and wine and he said this was one of the 3 best steaks he ever had.He was in heaven..The steak is melt in your mouth tender... The pork was the same, but I much prefer beef.
For dessert we decided to get 2 things and share.. First We got the Raspberries,Chocolate and Raspberries....When you break into the small chocolate cake creamy chocolate flows out like molten lava. awesome... I had told andrew how good the Bananas and Butterscotch Buzz is..He was not too enthused as he does not care for butterscotch..I told him too bad he was going to try it..
He reluctantly tried it...The moaning that followed should not be described by a nice girl like me...Suffice it to say he is a big fan of the Banana and Butterscotch buzz..In fact, after that taste I had to fight him off with a fork to get any for myself.
At the end of the meal ,I was told this was the best meal he had in 10 years..I don' t know if that's the truth or if that was the result of drinking a whole bottle of his friends Shiraz

Great start, looking forward to more reviews. :thumbsup2

Enjoying ~ looking forward to reading more.

Part 2..The quest for real fish and chips...I'm going to stray from the usual format of food reviews.. Now my British friend is quit the fan of fish and chips and he was more than ready to tell us how poorly done all things British were at WDW...His first taste of Britian at the UK was the British Invasion at Epcot....Here is a pic of him watching the British Invasion
Picture072.jpg

He actually thought they were quite good.
We then walked over to the Rose and Crown for a couple of beers..I think he was once again prepare for it not to be very *english* but he said that it was pretty much right on in it's depiction of an english pub...We then had some fish and chips next door which he declared good but not great...This is generally my opinion of the fish and chips in the UK..Good but not great.
A couple days later we went to get his requisite bowl of clam chowder..We went to Columbia Harbor House.. He, of course, had to try the fish and chips there...He was impressed...He liked CHH much more than he like the UK pavilions chips and he was very pleased that they had vinegar...He didn't realize you could get vinegar with chips anywhere in the UK
As a little side note, when he went to Downtown DIsney he was not much impresed with the menu he saw at Raglan Road, and said it was not very close to what he would see in Ireland...We did not eat ther however.

Our next meal was at Narcoosees...It wasn't a planned meal..We were staying at the GF and were to tired to go anywhere for dinner..We decided to head for Narcoosees and have appetizers..We were allowed right in and show to the bar..This is a beautiful restaurant.. The employees were fast and friendly .We had calamari, which came with lots of yummy pepper rings..We had Shrimp,or *Prawns* in Andrew speak...They were huge and wonderful.
We also had a cheese platter..Now for those of you that like cheese,do not miss a chance to try a cheese platter at the signature restaurants...These are bar none the best cheeses I have ever had..It comes in a significant amount and is great for sharing..
We so liked everything that we had on the appetizer menu and will go back there for a full meal.. We also had a lovely view of the MK fireworks at the end of the evening.
More too come.

Enjoying your reviews Jenny. We've never had the BLT flatbread at CG, but we did have the cheese and onion one and LOVED it. Hopefully I'll get to try the BLT one day!!:thumbsup2

Your review kinda "DIED" off. HUH?;) :lmao: OOOOPPPS this is Eddad:)

I am so glad to hear the fish and chip report! I was very sad that we didn't make it to the UK to try theirs. The ones at CHH were wonderful!!! I was afraid I was missing something. :goodvibes
