Hi all! Just wanted to get my trip report started! Sorry it's late! I still need to add photos, but here it goes...
Wednesday, November 15, 2006 Eye Doctor Appointment, Drop the Dog off at Day Care & Pack!
Woke up at my normal time (7am) on my first day off to get ready for the day. I started my normal morning routine (let the dog out, take a shower, get dressed). I had scheduled an appointment for this morning to get contacts. I didnt want to wear my glasses on my wedding day. Mike finally gets up and ready, we have a quick breakfast and head out to my Eye appointment.
The appointment went really smoothly and quick, the Dr. was super friendly and so was his staff. When I told him we were getting married, he called the back room, so that they can make sure they had my prescription in a trial pair. Sure enough, they did!
So they sat me down with one of the girls to teach me how to use my contacts. I explained to them that I had previously worn contacts when I was younger, so it was just a refresher course. Everything they taught me when I was 11 years old was still the same.
It took me a few minutes to put them in (touching my eye balls again was a whole new experience this time). After I finally got them in, the girl told me how to take them out, and wanted me to try taking one of them out. Now, when I was younger this was never a problem! You just pinch them out. Well this time I had an obstacle, my acrylic nails! I couldnt do the old trusty pinch; Id poke my eyes out! So, they showed me how to slide the contact down and out. (This was the only time I took out the contacts myself for the next week!)
So after I pop the contact back in, we pay the bill and head back home. We start washing some clothes, and realize that its almost time for us to leave to drop the dog off at the babysitters house! So we scramble to get all of Reeses favorite toys, her bed and blanket and her food & treats all packed up. We play with her a little in the yard, then we pack the car and drive to the babysitters house. We drop her off, and head back home to start packing.
Mike goes up to the attic to pull down our suitcases, while I finish the last of the laundry. We raid our closets for what to wear, and discuss what our plans are to pack accordingly.
The day just seemed to fly by, next thing we knew it was about 7pm, we still hadnt finished packing. I get a phone call from my friend Karina (we also work together), she was lending us her camera, and was on her way to drop it off. She has the two cutest little boys, who love to come over to my house! So, we chit-chatted for a little while as I downloaded all the remaining pictures she had on the camera. I placed them on CDs for her, and then they went home.
After she left, I finalized all the packing. Mike started lugging everything to the car, so that we can just get up and go! We planned on waking up really early, so that we can check-in and still make it to MGM at opening time. So I set the alarm clock for 5am, and we go to bed.
