Our trip was from April 22-May 1. We atayed at POFQ which was awesome. I had my doubts having always stayed at POR. I was pleasantly surprised. We stayed n building 2 overlooking the pool, close to the food court. It was very nice. Absolutely beautiful. Its much more convenient than POR due to the small size but its also so different that you don't even miss the other resort! Our group of 7 all felt the same way. We'll definitely stay there again!
We did Mission Space for the first time and it was great. I took a dramamine an hour before just in case but I had no problems. And I usually get motion sickness, ever since I had kids. My 57 year old Dad didn't fare as well and he won't be trying it again!
DH did the Richard Petty Driving Experience and loved it. We did the rookie experience which gives you 8 laps. LADIES- be prepared to wait a long time in the blazing sun. Bring sunscreen and magazines. LOTS!
We ate at:
Whispering Canyon- dinner- OK but I'd rather do breakfast again next time. The kids had fun but the food was mediocre.
Le Cellier- dinner- WOW! I loved the Mushroom filet, absolutely delicious. My DH wasn't crazy about no windows but his prime rib was great! Kids chicken fingers were fine.
Chef Mickey's - breakfast - great as usual!
Casey's Hot dogs- lunch - REALLY GOOD! They just smell so great when you walk by, you feel like you have to get one.
Sci - Fi Dine In- lunch- I didn't like it (had a turkey reuben) but every one else thought it was fun. We also had a car in teh first row so it was kind of hard looking up all the time to see the screen. I won't do this one again.
Boma- INCREDIBLE. Just like everyone has said. I'm so glad I read these boards before our trip or we wouldn't have tried it. Everyone's favorite. My Dad is a strictly all American kind of Hamburger guy. He didn't think he would like anything and he tried it all. Really amazing.
1900 Park Fare- Dinner (cindarella's gala feast). It was nice seeing Cindy and Prince charming for our 2 year old DD but I wouldn't do it again. The food was OK but could have been better. I didn't feel like there was a good selection. The strawberry soup was great but not enough to get me back. Next time we'll do the Cindy breakfast.
Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic Package- We ate here the night after Boma so nothing could really compare. This was our least favorite dining experience. There was nothing that stood out. We had done a character breakfast here 2 years ago and loved it but dinner was blah. It was nice not having to wait as long as everyone else for Fantasmic with the special seating. Next time we'll try the package again with Brown Derby.
Toy Story Pizza Planet- DS4 is the biggest Buzz fan on earth so we had to eat here 2x. The pizza was surprisingly good although expensive. He loved it and thats all that mattered.
Kona Cafe- Breakfast- DH and DM had Tonga toast and loved it. The rest of us had eggs and the usual breakfast stuff.
Grand Floridian Afternnon Tea- Another great experience. I am not a regular tea drinker but I will be now. My DM and I went and had the nicest time. Tasty tea sandwiches, incredible scones and Devon Cream. Yummy! We'll do it again! I really didn't think I would like this as much as I did.
'Ohana- dinner- another WOW! So glad I listened to you all who recommended it. Chicken Wings incredible! Salad dressing was delicious! We liked the turkey and shrimp the best. Dad loved the sirloin. Pork was fine but a little dry. Wontons were yummy too. Everyone should try this!
If anyone has more specific questions just let me know! Thanks again everyone for your recommendations. My whole family thanks you!
