Jennifer & Charley's 9/15/11 SBP/The Attic 12/9 Feat DisneyWeddingPodcast!

haha yes!!! I am already excited to harass my DF about disboards stuff too--- like I'm going to do a dining review in August and I'm going to have to take pictures of everything we eat. And it's going to be:

Chris: I'm HUNGRY!

Me: BUT THE DISBOARDS NEEDS TO SEE THE CUPCAKE, CHRIS!!!!

We're a rather odd couple anyway...

ANYWAY, I think if you are super-close to the minimum, you should upgrade. Yup. Mostly because I said so? :rotfl2: I really just think you get more *attention* as a Wishes bride, you know? Which I think is a little ridic. Did you decide on your reception menu for the attic, btw?

Enjoy your relaxing day! :D

 We're the same way. We like to take pics of our food when we go out anyway and send them to my mom and stuff.

I will tell him we must upgrade because Jackie said so!! :lmao: I'm sure that will seal the deal for him.

We did decide on a menu for the reception. It's $60 pp. Which I've already stated is quite pricey to me. But here it is:

Mickey Waffle Bar with seasonal berries, warm fruit compote, warm maple syrup, and whipped cream

Chocolate crepes, with cream cheese, and fresh berries

Cinnamon rolls, danish pastries, croissants, and hard rolls, whipped butter, jams, and preserves

Hardwood Smoked Bacon

Fluffy Scrambled eggs

Maple-glazed pork sausage links

Breakfast Potatoes

Assorted juices, coffee, sweet iced tea

I know we could get the price down if we took some things out. I said the chocolate crepes, but the DF was very clear about wanting those. It was $57 without the potatoes, so why not add them? He really wanted bacon and sausage. He's a meat eater. I'm not a huge fan of sausage, but if it's really good, I'll eat it. We wanted all breakfast items, even though it won't start until around 12.. that's if we don't upgrade to Wishes.

I saw your menu. Did you decide on the final one yet??

I LOVE Toms! :) I might look into getting a pair of the blue sparkly ones myself. I have three right now, a navy pair, blue corduroy, and a silver sparkly pair. I adore Toms! :) They're incredibly comfortable, and perfect for Disney. :)

Thanks for dropping in with this!! We've been waiting for a Toms owner to chime in! :rotfl: I see we've all made wonderful choices.

:scared1: Just looked at my desktop suitcase :lmao: 66 days til we check-in!! :cheer2:  :cheer2:  :cheer2:

So I'm basically taking over your thread! Ooops.

Yes, My word is law. Your DF should know this. My DF learned it a LONG time ago. :lmao:

Your menu does sound really good though! And somehow, our buffet is costing $75/per person. Why?!! I have no idea. It's a bit more than I want to spend, but I am really just too lazy to fiddle with it. We're having waffles AND french toast... why?!? Because DF is a PIA. He loves french toast and I don't, and I refuse to give up my mickey waffles! This is a bit random, so I apologize.

And WOO! A Toms lover. As soon as yours come in, Jen, if you like them, I'm gonna buy myself a pair!

Lol Me and the DF were just talking about our Toms. He can't wait for them to come in either.

We were also talking about the upgrade. During my free day off I was searching the boards for DP menus. While in my searches, I discovered that the DP only last about an hour. I just can't see paying all of that money for only an hour. We can't do a Wishes DP. It's not going on that night. Plus we would have to pay viewing fees for everyone since they're not getting tickets for that day. It's looking like we might just stick to Escape. Who the he'll knows?!

wow i am loving your menu (wish I was a guest!!). I am afraid I would have to agree with Charley and I wouldn't ditch the chocolate crepes either!!! Yummy!!!

Thanks! :thumbsup2 It makes me hungry just looking at the list!! :rotfl: We don't want to cut anything, but I guess we'll see once we get the final prices down.

But anyway... 64 days!!!!

So exciting! I'm so ready to go to Disney!!.... and get married!! :rotfl2:

:cool1: we got a partial BEO today. We don't have our floral yet. The email I sent Tanis last week got misfiled, so she missed it until today. I can totally relate. Someone emailed me about the wedding dress I have for sale. It got marked as spam and deleted. :confused3 I sent them an email. Hopefully they will reply back.

Anyway... Bless Tanis' heart. She got us the BEO earlier than than the contract calls for. So, she's the best!

Thanks! But I had a question.. They have the cake topper listed, but no extra charge for our upgrade to the mad hatter cake. She has it listed on the contract thing that shows the details of the event. Maybe it's a no charge upgrade? Lol

Hey yall!! It's been a while since I've updated about anything, so I thought I'd take a minute and drop a few lines.

Nothing really new on the wedding side of things.. except that we're down to 46 days!!! :cool1:  :cool1:  :cool1:  We definitely can't wait!! Our balance is due in a couple of weeks, so we'll be getting that take care of. Unfortunately some of that is just going to have to sit on the credit card and get worked off of there because...

I ended going in last week for gallbladder surgery. They found gallstones when they ran the tests a few weeks ago. Everyone said the surgery wouldn't be that bad, and it wasn't. But I hurt like hell when I came home. I had the surgery last Friday, and today is the 1st day I've actually felt like myself. So that's a good thing. :thumbsup2

Oh, and I FINALLY got the call from the bridal shop that my slip came in. Thank the Lord!! Unfortunately, it was at the beginning of this week... I didn't exactly feel like driving an hour and a half to pick all of that up and to try stuff on with staples in my belly. :scared1: I did call about the alterations though. They gave me another number to call for their alterations person. I'm thinking if they use an outside place, I might just find someone closer to home. That way we don't have to do all of that traveling back and forth.

On another note.. We did get our Toms in. The DF had issues with his, so we sent them back and upped his sizes. We still haven't gotten the others in yet. I loved mine. The only thing was they are a little floppy. But I have to put band-aids on the backs of my ankles for the rubbing of shoes like that. (1s you don't wear socks with) So with the band-aids on, the shoes fit perfect. They're really cute to me. My mom says they kind of look like ballet flats, cause the toes are kind of squared off.. but whatever!! She don't know anything about fashionable shoes!! :rotfl:

I guess that's it for now. Maybe I'll get something from floral before the actual wedding! (J/K) I'm sure I'll get something. I just tend to be slightly impatient sometimes. :rolleyes1

On a completely unrelated note.. I have to say that I have the best DF EVER!! (I'm sure I'm biased... just saying!) He has bent over backwards to help me with everything. I'm sure he'd shower for me, if he could!! He's taking care of the kids (our animals), the house, and me. I couldn't ask for anyone better... because there's nobody better! He truly is my other half, and I can't wait til we are married!!

Have an awesome day!! :goodvibes

Yayyy I'm glad you're back and feeling better! :D I can't believe your wedding is so soon--- you must be SO excited. (I'm pretty excited!)

Yay!! Thanks!! I am so excited! The countdown calender is just taunting me... those days keep dropping off, and I still feel like I have a ton of stuff to do.

I have to finish the newsletter, go pick up everything from the bridal shop, get alterations, finish place cards for reception, rhinestone my shoes up  , get the DF's tux worked out, take back original headband and veil (hopefully exchange for undergarments), finish marriage certificate stuff, finalize BEO and send back with balance :scared1: .... it's never-ending!!

And to top it all off, I've been having the craziest dreams. I want my hair up for the wedding.. so of course I had a dream where it was down with the tendrils hanging all in my face (def what I DON'T want). Then I was getting married in the work parking lot!! :confused3 CRAZY!! In 1, I didn't have my bra because I forgot to buy it! But the worst 1 yet... I married my cousin!! :scared1: I woke up telling the DF that I understand we're from Georgia, but we're not that backwoods!! :rotfl2: It's insane!!

That's it for now.

OMG Jennifer, I LOL-ed!!!!!!!!

That's almost as good as the dream I had where a shark ate my dad (while my dad was asleep in his house) so he couldn't walk me down the aisle!!!! :lmao:

:rotfl: that's hilarious Jackie! I was hoping that I wasn't going to have any wedding nightmares. No such luck! And I bout threw myself into a panic attack last night thinking about everything we had left to do. Lol

But today we got a few things checked off the list. We decided to go with Men's Wearhouse, and we ordered the DF's tux today! So excited about this!! We also brought my veil and headband back to David's Bridal. My mom had called earlier today to find out about exchanges, and they told her to bring the dress too. So we brought everything. They kind of acted like they didn't want to do anything. Even after we told them about the phone call. The woman we spoke with was the asst manager. She ended up letting us get a store credit, but we had to use it all right then. $605 in a bridal store, and I don't need another wedding dress!! Lol so I got 3 dresses, a bracelet, a necklace, a bra, some chicken cutlets, a pj set, grooms tshirt, some other stuff. Lol I racked up!

Your shopping spree sounds like a TON of fun. Seriously. I wish I had $605 I had to spend in David's Bridal... or anywhere, really...

And YAY for tuxedos. I've tried to think about them, but I get confused. I guess I'm not smart enough for tuxedos...

 I would have preferred them giving the money back... but we don't always get what we want, do we? :rotfl: But I thought the store credit would be better than the stuff sitting in my closet collecting dust. I had everything on like 4 different sites trying to sell it. I was about to start calling consignment shops to see if they would make me an offer. I was going to be buying dresses anyway for the trip. I'll post pics of those sometime this weekend.

The longer reception isn't really a big selling point for us. That's a lot more time we have to actually spend in an enclosed area with our immediate families!! :rotfl2: But if we upgrade, we'll have some extra money with the swapping of packages and trying to push up to the $10000 mark. We were already discussing what we would do. I'm thinking maybe a caricature artist. But we're not sure yet. I sent my planner an email about wanting to def change to The Attic, and the floral changes that go along with the move. Then I asked for an estimate on the total day. Hopefully she will get back to me soon.

On the estimate thing, I thought I saw a post somewhere that Wishes couples could ask for a rough estimate after the signing of their contract or something like that. I'm not sure. Anyway. I guess we'll know more after I get her email. The upgrade decision will be based on what our total is now and how everything goes the next couple of weeks at home. I have an appt with the surgeon on the 13th about my gallbladder. That's going to be $200. I received both of my bills from the 2 different visits to the hospital for the tests. Those combined are $4000. :scared1: I'm going to file for help on those though. Def must do that before the wedding, so I can only use my income, instead of both of ours. The last time I filed they completely paid of my hospital bills, and they were higher than these are. So maybe they will this time too. Plus my sisters are throwing us a shower in 2 weeks. Against all rules and regulations, we're having a money tree shower (my sister's idea). We just don't need any STUFF!! We have plenty of that. We're not registered anywhere. So we'll see how that goes. :rotfl: I know how people feel about coming out and asking for money as a gift. But I feel like throwing a shower is asking for gifts anyway.. so what's the big deal if it's money or not?? They have to spend the money to get the gift anyway. I know there's the thought that goes into the gift and all of that. If that's the case, get us a really nice sentimental card to go with that money. :rotfl2: JK

Don't mean to rain on your parade....but I'm having trouble imaging spending money on a Disney Wedding or anything else (including 2 dresses)....but filing for 'assistance' to pay your medical bills.

I don't know who "they" are that pay these expenses...but I'm guessing my insurance premiums have gone up for this very reason.

Everyone wants a nice wedding...and I was reading along liking everything you chose...until I saw that you really can't afford it and pay your medical expenses too.

Just my opinion...but I feel like somewhere down the line...you will have the Disney wedding...and I'll be paying for your surgery.

You're entitled to your opinion. But it's not like I'm going to cancel a wedding that's almost completely paid for, because I had to have an unexpected surgery. That's just not going to happen!!

And for your information, it has nothing to do with your insurance premiums. This is a fund that our local hospital has. So no worries.. You can sit atop your pedestal and look down on me all you want. I'm not a person that ever asks others for anything. An unexpected surgery is not something someone can help. Believe me. I had to pay over $2000 out of pocket for my surgeon. So if I can get the assistance that my town offers people without ins, I'm damn sure going to take it. And they go on our income anyway. I have to show proof of everything. So I'm not lying to anyone!

No offense to anyone. I just don't like someone telling me I can't afford something, when I've busted my butt to make all of this happen! I don't get financial assistance from anyone but my fiancé. And we're the ones paying for all of this... Not our parents like some people have! Sorry we're not part of rich America and live up to your standards.

And just so you know, these extravagant upgrades were just talking about different scenarios. None of that is going to happen because of said surgery.

And the last time I filed for assistance, I was 21. So no, I couldn't afford anything then... barely food!! I was 21!
