Jennifer Aniston on the Cover of GQ Magazine

Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie are so overexposed and both massively overrated. Both are beautiful women but total train wrecks. I'm so sick of hearing about this so called feud between them. There was a divorce, several children have been adopted and born, it all took place years ago. It's over. Why are we still talking about this?

I am a girl but I sort of get why many of the guys here are drooling. She's very pretty. But I think she looked way better, and healthier, in the early seasons of Friends when she had a little more on her bones besides just skin. Why is it considered sexy to look hungry? Someone please give that girl a cookie, or at the very least double up on the celery sticks. There is nothing to her!

Women like Beyonce, Selma Hayek, and Scarlet Johansson look way better than these stick figure women like Jennifer Aniston. You are supposed to eat and digest your food. It is possible to do without getting fat. I think someone forgot to tell that to the stick ladies. :lmao:

There was a marriage that ended, she wanted a career he wanted children. She has her career and he has 3 biological children and 3 adopted ones both sound happy with their choices. Or should he have remained with JA and not become a father just to keep us happy?

Okay, somebody photoshopped JA's head onto my body in those pictures. Who
do I sue?????;)

I think Jen looks great! She's almost 40 (and I am also almost 40) and she has an incredible body. I think she's awesome and I say "YOU GO GIRL!!" to her.

And I don't blame Angelina for what happened - it was all BRAD. He was the one with a commitment and an obligation to his wife. Angelina may have tempted him but he's 100% the one who gave in. That's why I use to be a Brad fan and I'm not any longer. Angelina? Meh - don't really care either way.

It is funny that when you discuss a picture of a famous male actor posing you don't here they type of comments that this thread has generated.

She is a beautiful woman who posed tastefully on the cover of a magazine. Why does this have to be about her crying out for attention or about her divorce.

It's a stunning picture, a classic pin-up for the ages. If I had that body, I'd get pictures done like that as well.

agnes!

There have been very few times I've laughed out loud while reading a response on the Dis...this is one of those times!

This is GQ. Who buys GQ? Not the general public, mostly males who might be a little classier than the ones that buy Hustler.

Where do you see magazines with naked people on the cover? Behind the counter or covered with a brown paper strip. Why? Because our society doesn't really go for that too much.

So why does a so-called actress pose in this fashion (and I've never seen her pose in that position with clothes on)? Publicity. Her movie career has pretty much tanked. Most of her movies show in the theaters for a week, maybe two before they go to the Premium movie channels and DVD.

Sounds a bit desperate to me. And I have never seen such a smile (?) on JA's face ever. Looked a bit embarrassed to me. Either that or she was on something to get her through this. Think her new boytoy had something to do with this?

Now if I saw JA in World News Report showing her visiting the poor in Mumbai trying to help those families, I'd give her a little more credit.

JA will have a hard time having a successful relationship with a man. She can't even have a relationship with her mother or father. And I'd never choose John Meyer at the one to try it with - Mr George Clooney in training (except less classy).

rie'smom - I've loved those photos.

I see both sides...

I think that Jennifer did this BOTH because she looks and feels fabulous... and a bit of the bid for attention thing as well. Everyone has mentioned the 'Brad' factor, but what I am also seeing is the "Look MOM!!! I am gorgeous, successful, and posing nude on the cover of a major magazine!!!! I haven't looked at her hands that have been mentioned here... but I could definitely imagine this photo to be a big 'finger' to those who have rejected her.

I do find it interesting that this cover is coming out at the same time as her latest 'family' movie.

And about the whole Jennifer-compared-to-Angelina thing...

Angelina is a skank who tries to act like she is not.
She has like a major "I am a god" complex.

Jennifer is not a skank, and is trying to act a bit like she is.
She has some self-esteem issues that go back to her upbringing.

They are both very completely opposite.

Does skank mean loving, caring, not oblivious to world situations? :confused3

Apparently
Jolie tries to improve the world. She's a member of several committees that help children:
teaming up with the Microsoft Corporation to support Kids In Need of Defence (KIND),

Humanitarian work
Jolie first became personally aware of worldwide humanitarian crises while filming Tomb Raider in Cambodia. She eventually turned to UNHCR for more information on international trouble spots.[42] In the following months she visited refugee camps around the world to learn more about the situation and the conditions in these areas. In February 2001, Jolie went on her first field visit, an 18-day mission to Sierra Leone and Tanzania; she later expressed her shock at what she had witnessed.[42] In the coming months she returned to Cambodia for two weeks and later met with Afghan refugees in Pakistan where she donated $1 million for Afghan refugees in response to an international UNHCR emergency appeal.[43] She insisted on covering all costs related to her missions and shared the same rudimentary working and living conditions as UNHCR field staff on all of her visits.[42] Jolie was named a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador on August 27, 2001 at UNHCR headquarters in Geneva.[44]

"We cannot close ourselves off to information and ignore the fact that millions of people are out there suffering. I honestly want to help. I don't believe I feel differently from other people. I think we all want justice and equality, a chance for a life with meaning. All of us would like to believe that if we were in a bad situation someone would help us."
—Jolie on her motives for joining UNHCR in 2001[42]
Jolie has been on field missions around the world and met with refugees and internally displaced persons in more than 20 countries.[45] Asked what she hoped to accomplish, she stated, "Awareness of the plight of these people. I think they should be commended for what they have survived, not looked down upon."[46] In 2002, Jolie visited the Tham Hin refugee camp in Thailand and Colombian refugees in Ecuador.[47] Jolie later went to various UNHCR facilities in Kosovo and paid a visit to Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya with refugees mainly from Sudan. She also met with Angolan refugees while filming Beyond Borders in Namibia.

Jolie with Colin Powell in Washington, D.C., June 2004In 2003, Jolie embarked on a six-day mission to Tanzania where she traveled to western border camps, hosting Congolese refugees and she paid a week-long visit to Sri Lanka. She later concluded a four-day mission to Russia as she traveled to North Caucasus. Concurrently with the release of her movie Beyond Borders she published Notes from My Travels, a collection of journal entries that chronicle her early field missions (2001–2002). During a private stay in Jordan in December 2003 she asked to visit Iraqi refugees in Jordan's eastern desert and later that month she went to Egypt to meet Sudanese refugees.

On her first U.N. trip within the United States, Jolie went to Arizona in 2004, visiting detained asylum seekers at three facilities and the Southwest Key Program, a facility for unaccompanied children in Phoenix. She flew to Chad in June 2004, paying a visit to border sites and camps for refugees who had fled fighting in western Sudan's Darfur region. Four months later she returned to the region, this time going directly into West Darfur. Also in 2004, Jolie met with Afghan refugees in Thailand and on a private stay to Lebanon during the Christmas holidays, she visited UNHCR's regional office in Beirut, as well as some young refugees and cancer patients in the Lebanese capital.[48]

In 2005, Jolie visited Pakistani camps containing Afghani refugees, and she also met with Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz; she returned to Pakistan with Brad Pitt during the Thanksgiving weekend in November to see the impact of the 2005 Kashmir earthquake. In 2006, Jolie and Pitt flew to Haiti and visited a school supported by Yéle Haïti, a charity founded by Haitian-born hip hop musician Wyclef Jean. While filming A Mighty Heart in India, Jolie met with Afghan and Burmese refugees in New Delhi. She spent Christmas Day 2006 with Colombian refugees in San José, Costa Rica where she handed out presents. In 2007, Jolie returned to Chad for a two-day mission to assess the deteriorating security situation for refugees from Darfur; Jolie and Pitt subsequently donated $1 million to three relief organizations in Chad and Darfur.[49] Jolie also made her first visit to Syria and twice went to Iraq, where she met with Iraqi refugees as well as multi-national forces and U.S. troops.[50]

Jolie and Condoleezza Rice at World Refugee Day, June 2005Over time, Jolie became more involved in promoting humanitarian causes on a political level. She has regularly attended World Refugee Day in Washington, D.C., and she was an invited speaker at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2005 and 2006. Jolie also began lobbying humanitarian interests in the U.S. capital, where she met with members of Congress at least 20 times from 2003.[44] She explained in Forbes: "As much as I would love to never have to visit Washington, that's the way to move the ball."[44]

In 2005, Jolie took part at a National Press Club luncheon, where she announced the founding of the National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children, an organization that provides free legal-aid to asylum-seeking children with no legal representation which Jolie personally funded with a donation of $500,000 for its first two years.[51] Jolie also pushed for several bills to aid refugees and vulnerable children in the Third World.[44] In addition to her political involvement, Jolie began using her public profile to promote humanitarian causes through the mass media. She filmed an MTV special, The Diary Of Angelina Jolie & Dr. Jeffrey Sachs in Africa, portraying her and noted economist Dr. Jeffrey Sachs on a trip to a remote group of villages in Western Kenya. In 2006, Jolie announced the founding of the Jolie/Pitt Foundation which made initial donations to Global Action for Children and Doctors Without Borders of $1 million each.[52] Jolie also co-chairs the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, founded at the Clinton Global Initiative in 2006, which helps fund education programs for children affected by conflict.[53]

Jolie has received wide recognition for her humanitarian work. In 2003, she was the first recipient of the newly created Citizen of the World Award by the United Nations Correspondents Association, and in 2005, she was awarded the Global Humanitarian Award by the UNA-USA.[54] Cambodia's King Norodom Sihamoni awarded Jolie Cambodian citizenship for her conservation work in the country on August 12, 2005; she has pledged $5 million to set up a wildlife sanctuary in the north-western province of Battambang and owns property there.[55] In 2007, Jolie became a member of the Council on Foreign Relations,[56] and she received the Freedom Award by the International Rescue Committee.[57]

Anniston goes through plastic surgery to improve her body and her face.

She has done a few things to help:
Philanthropy
Aniston is a supporter of Friends of El Faro, a grassroots non-profit that helps raise money for Casa Hogar Sion—an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico and

She has appeared in a few advertisements on TV for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

She made a guest appearance on Oprah's Big Give show to support the cause and donated money to help.

In the "It Can't Wait" campaign to free Burma, Aniston directed and starred in a video.

On April 14, 2007, Aniston received GLAAD's Vanguard Award for her contributions to increased visibility and understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

Note the difference:

Aniston makes videos or makes tv commercials or appearances.
Jolie puts her butt on the line and actually travels to places to help.

Maybe it's because Angelina is a natural beauty and doesn't have the down time from plastic surgery that Aniston needs.

But then people wouldn't have anything to gossip about. ;)

I agree with you.

Exactly. IMO, she does a lot of good in the world. I wonder if everyone calling her a 'skank' gives as much to the world as she does.

And I know JA helps raise money for St. Jude's--they BOTH are beautiful women who contribute to the world.

So out of curiosity, why can one not be both a skank and a humanitarian? To me it is two different facits.

What exactly is a skank anyway? I could look it up I suppose.

I don't get all of the nastiness for two strangers personally. I don't necessarily agree with their choices but without all the facts, I don't think it's fair to judge them so harshly. :confused3

Well, by my old college definition a skank is a slut that's not doing anything with you.

Sounds a bit desperate to me.
With respect, it sounds like you're desperate to find a reason to criticize Anniston. Your points are pretty weak, and miss a critical point; that Anniston is doing something that most actresses her age couldn't pull off. They would if they could, but they can't, so they don't.

What's wrong with accepting that Anniston did this because she wanted to, because she was able to, and because it benefited her personally?

A skank is a skank is a skank...

It only makes it worse when they think they are like god or Mother Teresa or something... and are all conceited...

A skunk may have the most naturally beautiful stripes... but they still stink.
