Jenn & Dan's PJ! Escape Wedding SBP/Narcoossee's 11-14-2009 UPDATED ROOTS SLIDESHOW!

Well I finally decided to start a planning journal after a few months of lurking on here. I can’t say enough about how helpful these boards have been with planning my escape wedding. There are so many talented, creative, and beautiful brides on here.

Let’s start with our cast:
For starters my name is Jenni and my DF's name is Dan.

We met though my MOH(also named Jen, she will be Jen with one N or MOH) when she was planning her wedding.
I was her maid of honor and just broke up with my boyfriend and took a long trip to Pittsburgh to let things settle. I did not want to get into another long relationship. Well MOH had other plans for me. She spent the entire month I was gone trying to set me up with the best man in her wedding, my DF Dan. Well finally, to get her off my back I agreed to meet him and we haven't spent more than three days apart since.

On our 1 year anniversary from the day we met August 15, 2008 Dan proposed. He cooked me a wonderful dinner and then said he wanted to go for a walk to the park I like down the road. I agreed and when we arrived by the lake on the boardwalk he started talking about our relationship. He told me how when I got out of the limo at our friends wedding he could see himself marrying me and how beautiful I looked. I told him we had something special together. He replied, "Your right, we do have something special, that's why I want to spend the rest of my life with you". He got down on one knee and proposed. I was in so much shock hugging him he had to remind me to look at the ring

So I tried to plan a big wedding where we live in Naples/Bonita Springs Florida but we just couldn't afford it. With almost 200 guests and a small budget the wedding of my dreams just couldn't happen. Since I can remember I have wanted a Disney wedding. When I was 16 I even ordered the wedding planning book just to look through. I never thought that Dan would want a Disney wedding though. One night as a joke I said we should just forget about the big wedding an just go elope in Disney. Supprisingly he loved the idea and even though I still didn't think it would work I began to check on it.
After talking to my mom she said I could book it and that’s where this fun journey has begun.

So now we are getting married at Sea Breeze Point on November 14th, 2009 at 2:30PM followed by dinner at Narcoossee’s and then an at home reception the next weekend November 21st, 2009.

So far we’ve had an engagement party

And I’ve picked out the dress. That was fun!! I tried on 12 lacey slim fitting dresses, because I did not want a big dress. I wanted something comfortable and easy to move in. Well because I love Disney movies as a joke I tried on this dress, and what can I say I fell in love. Haha so now I am wearing a 48 pound princess dress, and I couldn’t be happier!

started the invitations- with a lot of help from a wonderful family friend who is a graphics designer. The finished product with look a lot better when I use actual velum instead of tracing paper and I punch the holes for the ribbon straight.

Oh and how did you guys word the outside of your invitations. I am not going to have an inner envelope. We are having a small wedding and most of the people invited are family. My biggest delima is how to invite the couple and children. Is it ok to put John & Sally Smith and Family? Or how should I word it to keep it casual yet appropriate?

I LOVE your dress! my face just lit up when I saw it! I really want it!!!!! You guys are such a cute couple. As for invitations I worded everything on our save the dates as ex. the smith family. Depending on how many kids there are and how many invites you feel like making you could also send an invite to the parents mr. and mrs. john smith and then seperately send invites to each of hte kids master james smith and then another invite with miss jane smith. When I was little we always recieved our own invites but I think its a fading trend.

I have been looking for something to use as a logo forever for our wedding. I really love what your friend did. It makes me think I should spend more time playing with photoshop and see what I can come up with.

Anyhoo Congrats! I can't wait to hear about more of the plans!

Thank you for the compliments! WOW!! I just caught up a bit on your PJ and your dress is unbelievable! You look beautiful! I love the Kristy Kelly dresses. The Enchanted dress is definately one of my favorites.
Thank you for your imput for the address situation. I think what you did just putting the smith family is exactly what I want to do. It's formal enough without putting everyone on there.

WARNING: extremely picture heavy!!

First of all today is the 2 year anniversary of the day we met and the 1 year anniversary of the day he proposed. Time has just flown by. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful partner to spend my life with! I love you Dan!

Ok so I've been super busy with all the wedding planning but it has paid off. We have been to Disney 3 times, booked a DJ, had our e session with THE ROOTS!!, and got all the wedding invites sent out. Now I just need to finish the reception invitations, get the floral squared away, and the list goes on and on. The worst part is I called and got all my small reservations done but I am having the worst time getting my dinner after the wedding booked and my goodbye breakfast at 1900 fare scheduled. I have talked to the restraint directly 3 times now and am still having issues. Hopefully I will get everything straightened out this week though.

The good news is that I got a reservation for CINDERELLA’S ROYAL TABLE the day before the wedding. I have never done any of the princess meals and never been in the castle, so I am beyond excited!!

We just had our engagement shoot this week with the Roots, and I don’t think I have stopped talking or dreaming about the photos. They are the most wonderful people to work with. They made me feel so comfortable and I just can’t wait to get to spend my wedding day with them! Love you Roots!

Here are some from my trial with the wonderful Patricia Lejune. I loved working with her. She is so calm and completely understood what I wanted. The hair with be bigger and with tighter curls for the actual wedding, but she had to do a second hair style right after for the engagement pictures so she didn’t want to add to much product or tease my hair very much. So enough about that here are the pictures!

Here is the front do you like picture 1 or 2 better of the bangs?? Please don’t pay attention to the no makeup face.

This is the best place ever!! The Sci Fi Drive in.
I was worried because I heard the food wasn’t that great, but we both had burgers and loved them! Also you cannot beat the atmosphere in there. Can’t wait to go again!!

Just wondering. You and your DF are adorable and I hope you have a wonderful wedding & home reception!

I wish Narcoossees would work for the reception, but my planner told me they will no loger serve groups over 12 without renting out the whole place. I am talking to BlueZoo right now and trying to work out pricing details with them.

We are having the reception at the Elks Lodge in Estero. I was actually suprised with how nice it was, and the prices were wonderful. It will be pretty much traditional reception, dancing, cake, I get to wear my dress again, bouquet toss, ect. But we will be doing apptizers instead of a full sit down dinner.
I can't wait! I still get to party with all my friends and family, but I can afford my dream wedding at Disney! The best of both worlds!

Very cool! Too bad about the whole Narcossee's thing, but Bluezoo sounds good too! (Just a minor hiccup in the plannning I'm sure) I think it's great you're doing a full reception down here! That'll be really fun and nice for all your family and friends- definitely the best of both worlds!

I am actually from upstate NY. I moved to Florida (Tallahassee first, then Orlando, Tampa, and now Naples) after I graduated HS and my mom relocated to Naples about a year later. I got married last December-- I don't have a TR, but I've been thinking about doing one IDK yet. I guess we'll see.

Well I kinda dropped the ball on keeping up with my planning journal. The wedding was beyond wonderful. Truly everything I thought my wedding day would be and more.

I give all the credit to the wonderful people helping me that day including the ridiculously fantastic Roots!!! Not only are they fabulous photographers but even better people. We love you!! Patricia Lejune is a hair god. She did everything exactly how I wanted without me hardly guiding her. Lon Tosi for saving the day and preforming the wedding ceremony with only two weeks notice after our previous pastor canceled. And the wonderful wedding planner Kathleen Reynolds who made all my last minute little changes and oops moments flow seamlessly.

I can't believe I missed your epics, they are amazing. I'm usually so on top of stalking other Roots brides pics too..

The wedding pics are so awesome! Really incredible. The Roots continue to amaze me. I love the ones where you're in the surrey bike and your dress if flying out the sides. Your bouquet was so pretty and you and your girls all looked gorgeous, Patricia did a great job!

I love the Roots, I can't wait to have them at our wedding in August, they are just the nicest people on top of being amazingly talented!

I can't believe we leave for our honeymoon to Disney on Friday!! We will be celebrating our one month from the wedding back at bluezoo where the reception was. Plenty of pictures to come!
