Jen & Jeff's Wedding TR ~ SBP, Ariel's--- More Randy pictures!!

Everything looks AWESOME! I love that cake! Any idea if an intimate bride can get that style, just smaller? I'm all about straight lines...weird sorry!

Anyways, don't you just love Randy! He was awesome during our engagement pictures, which turned out awesome...I just know your wedding pictures will be awesome!
Can't wait to see them

Jeff and I went to sit down at our sweetheart table and a minute later, 2 servers came to take Jeff and I to the buffet. They wouldn’t let us put food on our plates ourselves, which Jeff and I both felt awkward about. (Sorry there are no food pics- I think everyone was eating!). I had penne a la vodka, salad, veggies, crepes, and challah bread French toast. It was all very yummy- especially the French toast mmmmmm :cloud9: - except the crepes. I had asked for raspberry crepes and peach crepes. I thought these would be separate. I asked for two b/c raspberry is my favorite and peach is Jeff’s. Well they put them together! Yuck and I hate peach! Oh well. I didn’t eat any more food b/c I ate a little too much cheese and fruit during my little binge before. Jeff also had the alfredo pasta, an omelet, chicken, cheesy hash browns, and prime rib and said they were all yummy too. Everyone really enjoyed the food!

Dan gave a toast which was short and sweet. We wish he was a little more creative but what can you do! I toasted w/ diet sprite and Jeff toasted w/ beer… aren’t we so classy?

Everyone kept banging their glasses together for us to kiss which was annoying. We were trying to eat people! The DJ interrupted and said if tables wanted us to kiss, they’d have to sing a song w/ the word “love” in it. This was cute! Of course people sang “Can you feel the love tonight”, “So this is love”, and then our bridal party table sang “Love Stinks!” hahaa too funny! This really was cute and everyone seemed to enjoy it!

Now it was time to party! DJ Steve did well and played a lot of Bon Jovi and all the other songs we requested. He didn’t play the Electric Slide or anything like that per our request too. He was great overall. Everyone was up dancing, it was so much fun!

All of a sudden I got REALLY hoy. I thought I was going to pass out :faint: so I went back to my seat and drank a lot of water. Randy came up to me and said “Stay sitting, Jen, something is wrong, you really don’t look good”. That’s what every girl wants to hear on her wedding day  Then he goes, “I’m going to see what the problem is”. I was VERY confused, but before I knew it everyone was sitting down and sweating. What was going on? It turns out the YC and BC lost power! The AC was down in the entire hotel and conference center and some of the hotel lost lights too. At least we had lights and it was just the AC not working! Apparently there were like 10 fire trucks in the parking lot trying to fix this problem. So everyone relaxed for awhile and it was time to cut cake.

Now Jeff and I made a promise not to smash cake in each other’s face. It was my idea b/c I’m rather anti- wasting cake, haha! Well Jess had been begging me all weekend to do it. So for my beloved BM, I smashed the cake in his face! And he got me back soooooooo good :lmao: It was too funny! I had to go to the bathroom and Linda had to fix my make-up AND hair! While I was in the bathroom, my BMs had to help me yet again use the toilet. I swore to them this would be the last time though!!

When we got back we ate cake! Oh my gosh was it delicious! It honestly was the best cake I have EVER tasted and it only got better as we went up the layers! The first layer was yellow cake w/ raspberry mousse, AMAZING! Then we were served the next layer, almond cake w/ dark chocolate mousse- TO DIE FOR! Our anniversary layer, which we had later that evening, was yellow cake w/ Bailey’s mousse- SOOOO GOOD! I highly recommend any of those combinations ::yes::

It was time to go back out to the dance floor and we had the married couples’ dance. It was funny… DJ Steve goes “anyone who got engaged in Giants Stadium isn’t allowed to participate”. That got my dad laughing which was nice to see :) Jeff’s grandparents have been married 61 years so they won. This kind of bummed me out a bit though. My grandparents have also been married 61 years and they were up in NJ all sad b/c they couldn’t make it. Jeff’s grandparents’ had to announce what their advice for us and they said “never go to bed without kissing one another good night!”. So sweet, but I couldn’t help but wonder what my grandparents would have said.

The next song played was “Big Butts”. I was told a groomsmen asked for that to be played, I’m not sure who though. I’m sensitive about my tush so I didn’t appreciate it. I was dancing w/ Molly and Jimmy and instead of being in a bad mood and missing my other grandparents and being angry about the song, the three of us went over to Nanny and started grinding on her! It was hysterical!

The rest of the reception was exactly like any reception. We didn’t do the garter toss or bouquet toss. We decided last minute not to do the father/ daughter and mother/ son dance b/c we were unsure how my dad would be. We all had an amazing time though! I loved how there were only 60 people b/c I really got to enjoy my reception. I didn’t spend the whole time talking to everyone, I actually got to dance! It was exactly how we wanted our wedding and Jeff and I are sooooo glad we had a small, destination wedding this way. We were just both so happy :lovestruc

By 4 pm though, I was ready for it to end. I was still very sweaty and just uncomfortable in my dress. So, my mom and MIL packed up everything- they wouldn’t let Jeff and I help at all, so sweet! I headed back to my room to finish getting packed and to get changed and Jeff headed to his room to do the same. My mom and I were driving us over to the GF to check in! We decided we wanted to come back to the BC after though and hang out w/ everyone one last night though. Originally the plan was to have a romantic evening for two, but we just didn’t want to leave our friends. Is that weird or what? Haha!

Next up- Checking into the GF, more cake, and a night on the Boardwalk :woohoo:

Jen I love the pic of you and Jeff dancing. You can see how much in love you are!

I *love* all of the little details you did to make your wedding special. You all looked so happy to be there. Congrats!

...more cake...

Not weird at all!!! :-) my DH and I did the same thing ... and we brought our left over cake to the hotel where our friends and families were staying after our wedding reception was over. We weren't leaving till the next morning for our Disneymoon so we spent an hour so hanging out at the hotel before going to the hotel @ the airport (I love my friends and family but there was NO way I was staying at the same hotel as all of them).

Wow, everything looks perfect. Now you have me thinking about doing a reception in Ariel's if we get around 60 people. It looks so pretty on the inside.

I feel sorry that you grandparents couldn't be there! That must have been hard.

Jen I am so happy for you, you had an amzing wedding and reception, everything was just equisite. I love the colors of the suits, even DF said he now wishes he got a tan suit:goodvibes
Speaking of tatoos, I know what you mean. I have a long stemmed rose tatoo on the back of my left shoulder, and it is addicting, I haven't had another one done, but I am thinking of getting mine recolored before the wedding, it's kinda faded. I had considered getting another tatoo for years, and it's weird cause I hate needles:confused3 The pain isn't bad though, it's hard to explain!
Anyway, I am loving your TR, it's not boring in the slightest, I really wish it could go on forever, I love it:cloud9:

The ring pop thing is adorable!! DBF and I have a joke about the ring pops; he always had this philosophy that if the girl is the right one, he should be able to propose with a spider ring and she'd still say yes. I joked with him that I'd turn down a spider ring, but not a ring pop!! :rotfl:

I'm glad to hear the cake was yummy! We got a cake at the Boardwalk Bakery for DBF's mom and it was really disappointing.

I LOVE the groomsman's ties. I just noticed them!

Jen- it looks like yall really had such a great time! i am glad you got to dance and enjoy your reception! we did the same thing, although we had 250 ppl there, we danced a ton anyway, we just didn't talk to everyone! haha keep up the good work, i cant wait to see if you liked the GF!

Jen I just got really sad when you had to say goodbye to your friends... I felt like i was reading the last episode/script for Saved by the Bell or something.... and everyone was saying goodbye-- and its me on the other end boo-hooing!! I cant imagine what that would be like! My tight knit crew from HS had definitely parted ways-- as a matter of fact last weekend I went to a cookout and didnt even know that most of them would be there-- and can you believe we never spoke more than a "Hey, hows it going" to one another? Its sad-- I think because I devote a lot more into my friendships than some-- i can tell you do as well-- and the good thing is that your friends reciprocate it back! Never let go of them-- they seem like such good people. I balled when my parents left-- even though i lived w/ Shane pre-wedding days... and they are only 15 minutes away (and my dad works with Shane)-- but I cried as if i'd never see them again. I think a wedding puts a real spin on your emotions... but those days youll never forget! Im glad Jeff was understanding, I knew he would be when you wrote that.

Okay so about the cake-- I think about my top layer nearly everyday-- haha this cant be good for my overall health. I count down until our anniversary so I can thaw it out and eat it-. I hope it isnt getting freezer burnt!

Aw Jen, I totally know how you feel! I had a crying fit on my wedding night too. Change, even for the good, is so hard. I'm so glad your wedding day was so wonderful. The first time my dh called me his wife (at the DCL cruise terminal) I laughed and cried! Great TR.

aw Jen your last installment made me cry! that is so sad! I am so sentimental, and I think I am peter pan and have a way hard time "growing up", too. i did the same thing, went to Mississippi for school and ended up staying/getting married. while I love my town, i miss my "hometown" and my old friends, and being with my family, etc. etc. pathetic, I know! it will get better, dont worry! you ar eprobably STILL tired/recovering from the wedding. just think of all the fun things now, like you can introduce Jeff as "My husband" etc/ etc. it will be FUN!

What a great tr!!

I love how your tables & cake turned out

I love that during the ceremony that boat of kids went by & went "argh" classic!!!!

I feel bad you were so HOT & then to have the air go out!!

Your pictures are SO FUN...it really looks like you all had the BEST TIME EVER!!!

I feel your pain about being a wife, but it super fun & adventurous!!!

Congrats again & its been so fun to talk with you & so sweet of you to offer advice...you rock!!!:goodvibes

Jenn....I can only imagine how hard it is being far from your family if you are used to being around them...I am the same way I dont adjust to change very well at all....When my DF and I moved to starkville when my DF got into vet school I had a hard time leaving (and its only 4 hrs away)!! But know the times we spend with our family (especially the holidays) are even more fun and special b/c I dont take it for granted....And now you get to start a new exciting chapter in your life!

Ok nice to know that I'm not the only homesick girl who has trouble growing up ;) Thanks again everyone for reading and all your comments  I asked Jeff's aunt, my aunt-in-law  , to email me pictures from the next day since we hung out. I'll give her til the end of today and then I'll be updating my TR :)

Jen, I cried when I was reading the last few paragraphs. I know how you were feeling. Though BG and I had lived together for so long before, I felt as if it was all over. :confused3 You are so filled with emotion - from the stress of the planning, to the excitement of the day, to the love of your life. And once it is all over, you feel alone and sad. So, just let it out.

Jeff is so sweet to move to NJ to make you happy. He is definately a keeper. ;) But I agree with you, the south is so less expensive to live in. :thumbsup2

I completely understand the homesick feeling. I'm going to college in TX, but am from MD...and sure there are planes, but I always have to hope for a Ding on SW because they're so expensive. My DF moved down here when he graduated and now he's homesick too:confused3 And you're right Jen, it's just too expensive for us to move back even after I graduate this year, regardless if it's what we both want. But then again, I know it's more family than anything else. If my mom moved to a different state, I'm sure that I would want to move there too. My mom is my best friend, and although I talk to her every day, it's just not the same. And I really want her to be there when I go wedding dress shopping...but that's unrealistic. Ugh, I will probably be a mess on my wedding night as well.

BTW, it's always nice to hear that your husband will do anything to make you happy! He seems like such a great guy.

I really enjoyed reading about your wedding. Everything was absolutely gorgeous...I especially love the colours of the flowers. Your pictures were amazing. Best Wishes to you and your DH.
Sherry
