Anyone that has been to either of these, can you tell me about your experience? My husband and I will have a few rare hours one night where we can do something without the kids, and we want to stay in the Boardwalk area where our room is, since one of the kids(12) will be there in the room. We are trying to decide which of these we would like to go to, and I was interested to see what other people thought of their experience there. This will be our first time staying at BWI. Thank you!

JellyRolls is a LOT of fun -- we stayed at the Dolphin last October and wandered over the first night there as it was the only place still open when we arrived at 11pm. It isn't cheap, but the entertainment is so much fun -- lots of classic rock and roll, some contemporary hits -- mostly a crowd in their 40s. We ended up going there 3 nights out of 5, closing the place each night.

For what it is worth, we walked into Atlantic Dance Hall, and left 50 seconds later.

Thanks, Tom! I was leaning more towards Jellyrolls, as it just sounds like it would be fun, and well, my husband doesn't really like to dance, though he would for me lol. And we will actually be there for my 40th, so sounds exactly like my kind of crowd!

They need to put a "big bands" style orchestra in the Atlantic and have ballroom dancing. It is such a wasted space when there are no weddings to crash. Just kidding on the last part.

We went to Jellyrolls three nights during our last trip. We went about 10PM on two weekday nights and on one Friday night. The weekday nights were super fun, not that crowded and lots of attention from the pianists. You write your song request on a napkin (you can put some money with the request, we saw anywhere from $1.00 to $20.00). We had no problem getting our sons played on the weekday nights.

Friday night was crazy busy, we had two obnoxiously drunk groups next to us. They were having a great time, just too obnoxious for us. We still had fun, but our next trip will just be the weekend nights.

I've been to Jellyrolls a couple of times and it is a lot of fun. The musicians are talented and very funny, and they do a great job of interacting with the audience. I highly recommend the experience!

Jellyrolls is CRAZY fun. Okay, not crazy as in what the kids think of as crazy fun now-a-days. It's fun. I digress.

In fact, my brother told them I was celebrating my graduation (MA in English & Digital Humanities) and they played a few songs for me (including Reading Rainbow). I was totally embarrassed for about an hour because they kept coming back to the degree. It was all in good fun. After they took pictures with the graduate and sincerely seemed to like talking with people.

Over the course of a long, 14 night trip we went there 4 nights. They WILL remember you, too.

I'll be back in November to celebrate my brother's 30th birthday.

Having been both on weeknights and weekends, if you don't like a large crowd, go on weeknight. Weekends bring in bigger groups from around the area. During the week you'll have the typical tourists (Disney t-shirts and park wear; where-as on the weekend people tend to get more dressed).

Oh, and another followup: It's a $12/person cover to get in the door. The boys at Jellyrolls get to split some of the money you pay for your cover, so really it does go to the musicians.

Don't forget to bring some cash for requests $1 or so/song is good enough. If you really want a song played $20 will do it (some people get desperate when its packed).

Atlantic Dance Hall has no cover, but they tend to play clubbing music (hip-hop and booty shaking jams).

We love going to the Atlantic dance hall, great music variety, free cover and we normally stay the the Epcot resorts so its a few paces home :)

How is the "ventilation"?

Do you come out smelling like smoke for days?:)

You guys have me all excited! Now I can't wait for November to get here!

AWESOME!:)

I had always heard it was a smoking allowed facility.:)
I just did a little "research"-smoking was allowed until 2009.:)

I really enjoy the Piano player and Guest interaction at R&C Pub.

Would you characterize Jellyrolls as "R&C Pub on steriods"?:)

Dh and I are staying at BW for our trip and are planning to go to Jellyrolls at least 3 nights while there.
