Jello Cake anyone?

I have been elected to bake a Birthday cake for one of my coworkers (soon to be one of my staff) tonight... she wants a Jello Cake... I think I've had one but have never made one.. anyone have a recipe to share?

Get a package of Yellow or White cake mix and make the cake as you normally would.

Let the cake cool down completely.

Make Jello, keep in liquid form

Poke holes all over the top of the cake

Pour hot liquid Jello over cake

Place in fridge to cool off and until ready to eat

Top with Cool Whip when ready to eat.

that sounds great now i have to go see if I have a cake mix so i can make one

I always mix up a small box of pudding and put that on the cake after the cake and jello have cooled and then put on the Cool Whip.

I've seen a Christmas version of this-one layer has green jello and one red-then it is all frosted with Cool Whip and kept in fridge.

Man, I was hoping this was gonna be more on the line of Jello Shooters I guess it's too early for that.
But the cake sounds really good. I may have to try it out.

That is exactly how I make it. This cake comes out so moist and good. Everyone loves it. It has a nice lite taste to it kinda refreshing. At Halloween I make a Orange one. And you can color the whipped topping with food coloring if you want.

We use a box of vanilla pudding too. I make the pudding let it get slightly set and fold the cool whip into it, than put on top of cake.
