I am taking my family back to Disney World for our 2nd trip. We went in 2014 and didn't know what we were doing. We tried to do as much as we could but we did miss out on a few things. One of the things we missed out on was the Jedi Training. My 5 year old is a huge fan of Star Wars. He became a fan when i introduced the movies to him. For some reason he loves the Dark side of the force.

With that said i would really like to get him signed up for the Jedi Training this time. What is the best way to do this? My one friend told me to schedule a breakfast at Hollywood studios before the park opens and after we sit down to go and sign up. Is that possible to do? Should we do that?

I would really like this to happen so any help you guys can give would be awesome!

Thanks.

We did this back in 2013. We did not arrive right at opening but maybe a half hour after and DS was signed up for like the 3pm show (time may not be exact but it was much later in the day). If it is a must do, the breakfast sounds like a good idea but the park would have to be open before you could wander over that way I would think and i'm not familiar with DHS breakfasts at all. I think if you are there well before rope drop (to be ahead of the crowd in the line) and head straight there you'll get signed up. I made a bee line to the sign up with my son in tow while the rest of our party leisurely headed to TSMM. They take quite a few kids for each show. It was a great experience for our son who was 7. He just loved getting to fight Vader.

We went to DHS on one of the busiest days (December 29 2015), and we got into the park about a half hour after rope drop. We were still able to sign up 3 kids for a 410pm show.

Keep in mind three things:
1) Expect to wait about a half hour to an hour in just the sign up line.
2) You need to have your kids with you when you sign up.
3) The show is about a half hour, and you need to show up about a half hour before show time. So, make sure you have an hour clear on your schedule for this show.

Posters in another JTA thread have said that the re-write of the show in early Dec has been accompanied by more show times and more kids per show, so sign ups are a bit less stressful. Getting to the park 30-40 min prior to park open would give you a great shot at most, if not all time choices, with diminishing results the longer you wait to get there.

The more flexible you are about show time and fewer kids to fit in, the easier it will be.

If you do it, I highly recommend purchasing Memory Maker. The photographer will take many shots of the show, including multiple ones of each child individually from good angles the audience can't replicate. However, personally I'd still use my own camera too because that's a once in a lifetime shot you can't reproduce if something glitches!

Have a great time - it's really a trip highlight!

A few more good bullet points
4) it's cancelled for rain, so plan accordingly if there is rain around during your trip. Or at a time when the afternoon storms will be common
5) they line the kids up in 2 lines. Right line, facing the stage, goes up on top to battle Darth (this is the "original" location for those that have seen it before)
line on the left stays on the ground and battles with the Sixth Sister (this is where the kids fought Darth Maul during SWW)

It depends when you go and how busy it is. The main thing is, is to be one of the first people through the gate to minimize waiting. We went the last week of June, very busy. We were at HS at I think 8:20, they opened the gates around 8:50. We walked right to JTA sign up, waited maybe 5-10 minutes to sign our son and daughter up, and were able to get a later morning slot.

So as long as you get one of the first breakfast ADRs, you should be fine. Remembering that breakfast can run you 45+ minutes.

Thanks for the input. We are going Aug 13th. I don't know if that is a busy time or not. Hopefully it works out.
