We just booked a trip for April! Usually I plan for 6-10 months! This feels quick and stressful.
Since our last trip, two of our kids have become Star Wars fans. I know NOTHING about Jedi training except that I'm pretty sure I have to sign them up the day-of inside the park? Is this true?
how hard will it be to get three kids signed up?
What do I NEED to know?
Thank you!

Take this with a grain of salt, because I have only done this at Disneyland, however, we did it last week, so I am thinking that it is the same.

Get to the sign up area asap upon entering the park. You will get to choose your time if you are there early enough. Each show has room for 36 kids, so if you're really there early enough, you should have no problem getting all 3 kids signed up with a good time.

Awesome! We are typically NOT rope drop people (because of DH), but I'm determined to get the kids in. Thank you!

Yes, the sign-up is done "day of." You should be at the park at rope drop and go directly to The Outpost (next door to 50's Prime Time Cafe). All time slots are usually gone by 10:00 or 10:30. The child must be at least four years old, and there is an upper age limit, but I can't remember what it is. The children who are signing up must be with you at the time of sign-up, as the cast members will be asking them some general questions, e.g., their age, can they be safe on the stage, can they follow instructions, are they brave enough to fight the dark side...

You have to come back to The Outpost 30 minutes prior to your particular show time to check back in, get robes, etc. The children then march as a group over to the stage and the show begins. It's really cute and very well done.

We are rope drop people, and it killed me to wait in line to get my DD signed up for this, instead of off riding rides! We were there President's Weekend, which was pretty busy, and I did notice that if you are not picky about times, there were afternoon sessions that were still open a couple of hours after park opening. Just an option if you can't get there first thing, you could probably snag an afternoon session.

That's really good info, thank you! Because I would have gotten up ahead of everyone, made the trek there and then back to the resort to gather the people :)

We did this on Monday. We arrived at the park entrance at 8:55. We waited on line for over an hour to get signed up. It killed me to waste that morning time, but it was worth it to see DS up there. When we got to the front of the line the last three show times were left. The kids have to be with you to sign up so they can be asked the questions posted above. The ages must be 4-12.

What time are the first shows usually? We're hoping to go to HS strictly for this and for DH to ride Star Tours then jump over to Epcot afterwards...

Just remember that at least one adult will need to go into the "question and answer" session right before the training starts. If you can, have one adult go to the training spot and one adult stay with the kids. That way, that one adult can get a place for viewing because the adult that stays with the child(ren) needs to be there almost to the moment they go on stage. If you already have an adult in "position" the second adult can join the first one for a decent view as the spots get taken up very quickly right before the training.

This for sure. Also, know which line your child is in so you get in the right place to get the pics. Lower platform line is nearest the wall, the other is upper platform.
