I did a search for it but maybe I am not searching for the right things.

How does signing up for Jedi Training Academy mesh with EMH? Do you get a head start on lining up since you can be in the park earlier? How should I plan for this?

thanks for the help!

Yes. We did it the other day. Took about 30 minutes and we got a return time of 11:00. It wasted a lot of the EMH but I would think the line would have been longer on a regular day.

so did you show up early for EMH or do you basically have a head start by it just being EMH? say park opens at 9, if you show up right at 8 you are probably not first on the line that forms for EMH but you are ahead of all of the non resort guests?

I saw that! It was not clear if it is regular park opening or early park opening on EMH days? Just wondering if it is better or worse to go on that day. There is not a whole lot I want to do at DS anyway so kind of want to get this out of the way (my son has done it a couple of times but it is a must-do for him, I just want to get it done and out of the way lol). I'll FP toy story, we'll probably burn the entire extra morning hour getting the jedi signup out of the way and then having a light breakfast at starring rolls, then maybe hit great movie ride with an early FP if I can get it.

We arrived around 7:45 and got in line at the gates. When they let us in we went right to the signups. It still took us 30 minutes to get our time slot.

yeah I am expecting to burn EMH doing that but I figure I get it out of the way before the park opens and I'm ahead. There are not so many things I want to do at HS that I can't do them with FP anyway I think. Kiddo didn't like ToT last time and we won't do RnR either. hoping to be gone by early afternoon with everything done and back for another night of nighttime stuff :)

I am planning to do EMH for Jedi training too, but have never been to a park on an EMH day - what time do you plan to get to the gates for an 8am EMH?

I try for 30 minutes before. Dont ever make it cause of bus transportation.

we are staying at BWV so can walk even but hoping for boat. My rule on vacation is never walk when you can ride ;)

Ha Lisa F. you beat me to the punch asking this question! It is a shame that we will likely waste the EMH in line for Jedi training sign up. Would it be worse to RD HS on a regular (non EMH) day? i.e. take longer than 30 min to sign up?

On a regular day, arrive at least 45 minutes before park open.

They usually open the gates 15-20 minutes early. And on some days, JTA guests are allowed in even earlier to head to sign-ups. Many have reported they were finished signing up before the 9:00a opening.

Thank you seems to be a bit of a toss up then as to whether or not we go to HS on EMH day! 15 minutes longer isn't a deal breaker for me if the trade off is sleeping in a little longer! Hmm. Will have to think about that!

I don't think there is anything I need to be doing in EMH that I can't handle with fast passes. It would just to be to get it out of the way earlier in the day if that makes sense. I would not be going to EMH to ride the rides earlier, I just want to get the signup out of the way and enjoy the morning/early afternoon iwth fastpasses and see the Indiana Jones stunt spectacular. my list is short. After that day I will begin shifting our schedule later so that we can do evening EMH at mK on wednesday and MVMCP on thursday.

Do you have the option of getting an early adr at h&v?
Last time I signed my son up in the middle of breakfast and was back before my husband got the bill.
We avoid the parks with EMH.

Early ADR at H&V is an interesting strategy! Might be hard to pry my daughter away from the characters part way through though!

I am just thinking with all the shows and M&G and things at HS it will be a full day, we may as well get started first thing. But burning through EMH just to wait in a line plus then having to deal with a more crowded park....hmmm.

If you have an H&V ADR, you can sign up for JTA before you enter H&V for breakfast. You won't have to worry about rushing through breakfast for sign-ups.
