Jedi Training Academy at WDW anytime soon?

They have this at DL & I was wondering if WDW has anything similar? DS is a Star Wars FREAK.
Also, besides Star Tours, is there anything else we should be on the lookout for?

Well, JTA was tested as a permanent attraction starting last March (it's usually only for Star Wars Weekends), but according to recent reports it kinda flopped and is not an attraction at this time. Other than Star Tours, the Tatooine Traders shop, and the speeder bike prop, there is nothing really related to Star Wars in the park. (I'm a HUGE Star Wars geek, so it's disappointing.) But at the end of The Great Movie Ride there is a movie with clips from a bunch of movies, and there's about 5-10 seconds that are all Star Wars. The Disney's Stars and Motorcars Parade also has a Star Wars float.

Can you tell me where the speeder bike prop is located? Also, what do you think of the store? DS can't wait.

I have pics of the characters from the parade when we went last time, but DS was only 3 & he doesn't remember much from the trip. He keeps talking about when he meets Darth VAder & I keep reminding him that he's only in the parade. He's going to be a Clone Trooper for Halloween & was hoping to see a Clone or Storm Trooper while we are there too. I told him don't bet on it!

Speeder bike prop is located almost directly opposite the exit of the store (Tatooine Trader Shop). It sits in the "forest" section backdrop. Can't miss it.

The store is cool. Tons of merchandise and lots of stuff you really can't find anywhere else.

And he CAN meet Darth Vader (only during SW Weekends though). Vader is usually set up for pics & autographs at the far end of the Millionaire building. The lines to meet him are usually pretty long, but it's worth it. There are many other opportunities for other characters as well - in case you didn't know this for next spring's SW Weekends.

Edit: Just noticed you're leaving in 2 weeks - obviously that's not SW Weekends. So, you're right, he won't be able to meet Darth. Sorry!

Just to let you know we were at MGM on 10/3 and Darth Vader and 2 Stormtroopers were out for pictures. They near the enterance to Star Tours. They did not stay out very long but long enough to get a picture with them

Good Luck! You can always ask a castmember if any Star Wars characters will be out for pictures.

If you can I recommend going to Star Wars weekends one day! We did and we really want to go back. We all (myself, DH and DS-7) are all big Star Wars geeks and we had a blast just meeting tons of different characters and walking around seeing/meeting other Star Wars junkies

That's too bad that they stopped Jedi Training. We went in June during the week and that was one of my boys favorite things at Disney. They love to tell the story about how they fought Darth Vader to anyone who will listen. When we were at the stage there were at least 100 people around it.

Jersey Girl, thanks for the question. We do the Jedi training during Star Wars Weekends and it is very popular. We are very proud of the response from the guests but as of now, there are no plans to make it a permanent attraction.

I'll check with those in the know and let you know of any news

Thanks for the info on the Tatooine Trader Shop & also the Speeder bike. Our last trip to MGM it poured the entire time & we missed it. I didn't tell him about it, I'll let him "find" it on his own & be surprised. I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss it also!

I'm going to ask, but I won't get my hopes up in case it doesn't happen.

I doubt we'll make it to SW Weekend next year, but now that we know about it maybe it's something we can try to do once in our lifetime!
