If you have him wear a star wars costume he will have an excellent chance. My 6 and 8 year old did this in December, both were picked the first go around. One was even Darth Vader. He held a paper towel sign (not a very impressive one I might add) that said, "I can change".

My little one (3.5) was the 3rd kid picked on our first try last week. He was wearing a yoda stitch shirt (from the disigners on the boards) and the Jedi master was immediately drawn to him. He even got to stand on the blue circle immediately to the right of the jedi master and got lots and lots of attention throughout the entire show.

Funnily enough, the little boy next to us, who had to be around 7ish, ended up "choosing" himself to be in the show and the helpers didn't catch that he hadn't been "chosen" and thus he was allowed to participate. At first his mom was freaking out because she knew that he hadn't actually been picked. But, once he was successfully in, she couldn't help but be proud as he has apparently chickened out on participating several times in the past.

Last week my two Grandsons, 7 & 9 were all excited to do the Jedi training but the 9 yr old was too shy or embarrased to jump up and down and show his sign so even tho they both had signs and were wearing Star Wars t shirts only the 7 year old got chosen, (could have been the R2D2 Mickey Ears) He did awesome and even got to fight Darth Maul, The certificate they get is very nice also. I was pretty shocked by all the parents who insisted on sitting on the line with the kids and took up space !!! We sat to the right of the stage and when they brought out the big boxes witht he robes and light sabers in it, yep we were right behind it !!! Good luck and have fun !!

My 7yo got picked the second time we went. He didnt do anything other than a bit of jumping and waving of hands. He wasn't in a SW costume. He had a great time and it made for some great video which I am sure will come out on his 18th or 21st birthday!

So long as the kids are showing alot of interest and showing that they want to be picked, there is a chance that they will be picked. My DS8 was wearing a plain green t shirt and sunglasses and was picked because he was enthusiastic about wanting to be in the show. The ironic thing is that my DS6 is the Star Wars fan, and was royally miffed that he missed out on it. My DS8 got to fight Darth Maul last month while in DL and had a blast. It just seems to be so random.
