I didn't get FP+ for our party of 11 for TSMM figuring we'd walk on at RD as wifey an I comfortably do when it's just us. At least 2 of our grand kids now want to do the Jeddi thing. So.. we either sign them up as quickly as possible then scoot to TSMM and wait however long it is or we do TSMM first then sign up for Jeddi. What's our best bet?

Sign up for *Jedi* (not Jeddi) training as soon as you get into the park to ensure you get a slot. The kids have to go to the sign up with you.

When we did Jedi earier this year, we were given paper fastpasses for everyone in our party when the CM's were getting the kids organized. Not sure if this is still the case, but we were able to use those for TSMM after Jedi Training.

Oh wow, I hope this is still the case. We are going to attempt Jedi training next week.

We got them last year at sign up, but not this year when we went in September. But since they added the 3rd track at TSMM the wait shouldn't be that bad as the line moves faster than before.

When we did this last year we were among the first people through the gates. They were holding everyone at the ropes and let us start signing up before the rope drop. We were able to sign up and join the rope drop crowd and still get to TSM quickly. We obviously were not the front of that pack but we got in with a very short wait. So get there early....well before opening time!

Like you I am being required to take an 8 year old to Jedi training signup. Sadly she is so google savvy that she told me we had to go to the sign up first or she would not get a slot.

The paper FPs were only a thing for a little while. They had stopped that before our May trip.

Definitely sign up first. They should let you into the park before it officially opens and you can sign them up and then head over the TSMM.

In Feb we did receive the FP for our whole group but a few weeks ago we didn't. We were about 20-30 back in our turnstile lines (thanks to long bus wait) when parked opened and went straight to JTA sign up. It still took about 30-40 min and the was EMH. By time we got to TSMM it was 50 min wait already. So like Wish suggested I would make sure you were up near the front of the line if hoping for a short wait on TSMM.

Don't count on getting FPs. They are not normally passed out any more as Guests can sign up prior to official park opening. The Studios typically let guests into the park 15-30 minutes prior to open (most crowded days 30 min. prior to opening) and guests signing up for Jedi Training will be able to do so after entering the park. It's important to stay to the LEFT. Everyone else will be held on Hollywood Blvd. just past Trolly Car Café Starbucks until official park opening. You'll want to turn left onto the cross-street to make your way down to the Jedi sign up area without getting trapped in the crowd. That too is why it's important to get to the park early.

Because you have a large group, I'd suggest just the kids doing Jedi Training and their parents go to the sign up area and the others make their way to Toy Story Mania (they should stay to the Middle on Hollywood Blvd. until RD). (RnR folks will be to the far right.) The Jedi signup group can do the ride separately and you can pick a spot to re-group afterwards.

Jedi Training is a lot of fun. Hope your little ones enjoy it like ours did.

In August, we were at the turnstiles when they opened - we were able to get the kids signed up and then still make TSMM at rope drop. We were at the gates pretty early but honestly it was totally worth it. (Only the kids and adults had to be there "so" early - the rest of the crew met us post-signup.)

We are currently in DHS. There were extra magic hours this morning, we got here about 8:15 and got a spot no problem. We did not receive any FP's. We walked to tsmm and got on w/ a 10 minute wait.

I know that I went to DHS during EMH in March .. despite being there at RD (and we didn't "RUN" to the Jedi training line) and they were in that line for a while (probably 20+ minutes). By the time we got to TSMM, the wait time was 25-30 minutes (even during the EMH).

With only 4 rides at DHS, they all fill up quickly. Just be prepared to wait, even early in the morning.

Went in August and went right to Jedi sign ups and basically walked on to GMR. This was the last day ever for GMR so mostly everyone headed right there. You should be ok doing sign ups and heading to TSMM.

I heard that the paper fastpasses for Jedi Training have stopped. However, they were never good for Toy Story Mania anyway.

I am going to Jedi first, then immediately to TSMM. I don't know how well this strategy will work, but my thinking is this: If we miss sign-ups for Jedi Training, there's not a lot we can do (other than show up for every show and hope someone else doesn't show), but we could always wait for TSMM if we really wanted to. This is the first year my 4 year old can do Jedi, so that's a priority.

Doing the exact same thing in January. I share your logic!

How quickly do the spots fill up for Jedi Training? We're not rope droppers - can't get the kids moving that early - will there still be spots available by 9-930? We're going the second week in Dec.

They were good for TSM about two years ago when we got them.
ETA...moot point though if they no longer give them
