Saturday, Sept 25
Today we got up around 8 am, after getting to bed at 2 am. We got our showers and went down for the continental breakfast. We checked out around 10:45 and waited around in the lobby, watched the weather, etc. About 11:20, FL Tours called and said they would be there in a few minutes. Renata was our driver, she arrived around 11:30. She was very nice, helped us with our bags while we got the kids in. She had a DVD player in the van, and Toy Story was the movie, which our kids love.
We arrived at ASMo about noon, only to find a lot of people waiting to check in. Chris and the kids found a spot to watch the movie, while I waited in line. I didn't have to wait but maybe 10 minutes. Nicole was the CM who checked me in, and she was great. There was a glitch with our reservation, because when I made the ressie for that night, the CM didn't link it to our other reservations, and we would have had to change rooms tomorrow, not to mention the resort was full. She was on the phone for 10 minutes, but when she got off the phone, she seemed really happy to tell me that we'd be able to keep the same room for our whole stay, and not only that, our room was ready! That surprised me, because I had heard 4 people told their room wasn't ready yet, and THEN, she said our room was in Toy Story section!!! Just as we requested! We went to our room, and unpacked a little, then went down to the food court for lunch. Chris and I had taco salads, the were really, really good. They boys split a chicken nuggets and fries meal, and we bought two refillable mugs. The total was $48.40.
When we were finished, Isaac and I took a nap while Chris and Trev went to swim. Around 5 we left for our dinner at Chef Mickey's. The bus came right away, and the driver was great. He told us the parks were closing at 7, and he dropped us off at the Contemporary first since it had started to rain already, which was great. We checked in almost an hour early for PS, got our picture done, and were seated about 15 minutes later. The food was fine, but Isaac was really fussy and tired, which made it hard to eat. We saw Chip, Mickey, and Goofy fairly quickly, then Chris took Isaac out to walk around since he was finished and Isaac didn't like the characters at all. I took Trevor up to see Donald, and we got some ice cream. When we got back to the table, Chip came back, and then Dale a minute or so later. Minnie was in the restaurant when we got there, but we never did see her, and we didn't wait because the busses weren't going to be running much after the parks closed. Character interaction was good, Isaac was afraid of them and it was cute to see their reactions to that. Chip (the 2nd time) and Dale both sat down with Trevor for a minute, Dale pretended to eat Trev's ice cream. Judy was our server, she was ok, but it took a while to bring the check when we were obviously ready for it, and then it was 15 minutes later before she got our money. I know all the staff had to be concerned about their own homes and lives, with the hurricane coming that night. All in all, I'd give that meal a B.
We walked over to MK to get a bus back to ASMo. It was only a little windy by then, and not raining much at all. We got on the 3rd bus, which wasn't bad. We walked into the main building on our way to the room, and Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto were there. We got in line for Mickey, but the handler said they'd be taking a "cheese break" in about 5 minutes and they'd be back in half and hour; we went to Pluto then, because there was no one in his line at all. Got a few pictures with him, and went back to the room. Chris went to fill our mugs and get ice for tomorrow, and we settled in for the night.
