Jean shorts or cotton shorts

Leaving next Saturday for 10 days at the World...what's more comfortable in the August heat....jean shorts or cotton shorts? Not sure what to pack....what do the majority of you pack?

I usually pack cotton as I hate the feeling of wet denim & even more so stiff dried denim! I find cotton to be better wet, dry and the usually wet again! Between rain, heat and water rides, I am guaranteed to be in wet denim! JMO

Cotton shorts for sure! Even if you skip the water rides, plan on getting stuck in the rain, especially during August. I hate wet denim!

Denim is really heavy during the hot months. Cotton is fine, but moisture-wicking shorts are even better! I bought a couple of pairs of Columbia brand hiking/water shorts last trip, and they were great! Very lightweight and comfy. You can even hand-wash in the bathroom sink at night, and they're dry by morning. Here's a link:

Thank you for the suggestion...unfortunately I leave next Saturday...but I definitely am going to go with cotton. I had packed jean shorts but I figured they would be too heavy.

I live here and I would go with lightweight fabric that dries quick. Also, light colored lightweight shirts are a must. If you are prone to heat rash I would get some GoldBond powder to help. A hat and sunglasses is a must in the Florida sunshine. You will also need sunscreen no matter how tan you think you are. We see tourist all the time with bad burns and trust me walking around the parks in the heat with sunburn is NOT fun!
