Sounds like a good deal to me. DS was told he could try to hold off one more year as long as he sits near the front. But for $25 I think we will get him a pair to see if he gets used to them.

Frames up to $120, free impact and scratch resistant polycarb lenses, free uv protection and free protection plan.

Anyone ever get glasses there before? Is this a good deal?

Thank you!

$25 sounds like a great deal. Usually they will only use a prescription if it is less than one year old, so unless you have a fairly recent prescription, you might need to get a new exam.

I don't understand your comments about holding off for another year before getting him glasses. If he needs them, why would you make him wait? And what do you mean if he gets used to them? If you mean getting into the habit of wearing them, then that does take a bit of effort, especially for a younger child, but if he needs to 'get used to wearing them' because it is hard to see with the glasses, his prescription may be wrong.

We have the prescription - got it in June.

The pediatric optomotrist told him he could hold off for another year if he wanted. His vision is borderline now (her words) and she anticpates him absolutely needing glasses by next June when we go back. Apparently nearsightedness commonly develops during puberty. DS13 does not want to wear glasses. I am not holding him back on that. I convinced him for $25 we might as well get a pair and see what he thinks...maybe he will like them.

Did I explain that better?

Thanks for letting me know it is a good deal :)

Ah...that makes sense. That is about the age I was when I got my glasses. They told me that if I wore them for one year, the problem would probably correct itself :rotfl2::rotfl2: For the $25, you haven't lost much if he refuses to wear them. And he might just find out that they help a lot and he aprpeciates having them! ;)

That's my grand master plan ;) Thanks again!

Wow! Thanks for posting this! DD wears glasses and we just ordered new frames/lenses. But for $25 I'd be willing to get a backup pair for her!
