Sorry I have taken so long... It's that I got a job as a Server in Outback and I get home like at 11 PM every night and by then I'm just ready to go to bed.


Day 4 (1 day before wedding)

We decided to have a rehearsal breakfast so that we could give everyone a chance to enjoy their vacation. I’m really happy we chose 1900 PF because (1) It’s proximity to the Wedding Pavilion, (2) The kids LOVED the characters and were pretty entertained while the adults talked, (3) The atmosphere was relaxed and everyone just had a really good time.

We spent the rest of the afternoon just talking with our families and relaxing. At night, Ben and I decided to go to Epcot. We had dinner at Via Napoli. We got a table outside and it was really romantic. We had a pizza and shared a bottle of wine.


After we went to France to get some desserts before watching Illuminations.

Wedding Day Part 1


Our Wedding Day

Part 1

We woke up at around 8 AM. I had put my phone on silent because I didn’t want anyone waking me up to ask questions that should have been answered earlier. I know, it’s a little selfish but today was my day. I actually made a voicemail that said “Hi, you’ve reached soon to be Mrs. Joy, I’m getting married today so if it’s an emergency call my dad at blah blah blah.”

I thought I was going to be nervous but I wasn’t. I was so ready to get married. To me, the stress all happened in the last month before the wedding. Today, I was the zen bride. Lol

We ordered room service, 2 oatmeals with brown sugar and fruit with a pot of coffee. I had decided to put off shaving till the very last second so that I could have smooth legs. Ben saw that I wasn’t eating so he started spoon feeding me as I shaved. Princess Treatment.

At around 9:15 AM, my dad and my aunt knocked on our door to escort me and the already steamed dress to the Palm Room at the GF where we would be getting ready. Don’t worry; Ben never saw the dress because it was covered with sheets. I lived with Ben before we got married and I know its not traditional but I still remember waking up with him that day.

So we said our goodbyes and I told him “I will see you on the other side.” He was going to the Bay Lake Towers to get ready with his family.

Beaute Speciale had been in the Palm Room since 7:30 AM. They did hair and make up for my grandmothers, my aunt, one of my bridesmaids, my sister and my mom.

I had requested Ana and I was happy to see that she was there. I showed her what I wanted along with my headpiece and she started working her magic. I thought Beaute Speciale was really good at calming you down because they are really laid back and they just talk about the most random things, which was pretty entertaining. They also did a fantastic job.

They thought it was really funny that I'm not used to getting makeup professionally done. I won't even show you half of all the faces I was making... lol

I started doing my hair at 9:30 AM and finished at like 11:15 AM. Someone else was doing my makeup but I don’t remember her name… Maybe one of you will recognize her in my pictures.

Misty, Nelio and Mary from Key Moments got there at around 11:30 AM. Misty started taking pictures of my accessories while Mary and her crew videotaped. Everything started moving real fast. I still hadn’t made up my mind about which perfume I was going to use so I had Mary from Key Moments assist me. It was between Gurlain Insolence or Alien. I went with the Gurlain one because I though it felt more bridal.

In the Palm room we had mimosas, create your own sandwich and chips. I drank maybe 1 mimosa and ate turkey by itself because I didn’t want to feel bloated but I also didn’t want to faint. My bridesmaids had all agreed to meet us in the Palm Room by 12:30 PM and they did.

My dad was an emotional mess that day. I swear he spent the majority of the day crying. This was when my dad saw me all dressed up for the first time...

Good for you, being so calm! I was sooo nervous that day and no idea why! You look so calm and collected in your pictures. And your hair looks gorgeous!

Here is a little confession. The night before I got married I was so stressed out that at one point I said I just want the wedding to happen so that I no longer have to stress. By the end of my wedding night I could honestly say that if I could experience my day again I would go though all that stress all over again. It was beyond worth it.

Part 2

After a couple of formal pictures with family members and bridal party, it was time for our First Look. That was the first time I got nervous. I was walking with my wedding planner and she kept updating whoever was with Ben on our location. I guess they do it to make sure that everything turns out right. Jamie (my planner) was like “Walking with bride just entered the GF Lobby”… and so on. The anticipation was killing me. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so many butterflies in my life. Misty had decided that we would have our first look outside the GF because it would be more intimate and it would allow for better pictures. So I get outside, and there is Richard waiting to escort me halfway to Ben. He was telling me things to calm me down but I was pretty emotional. Ben was facing away and I had to walk up to him until I was right behind him and then he turned around. It was the best feeling in the world. I couldn’t believe it was actually happening. It was just me and him and we didn’t have to worry about anything else.

Misty then took us around the GF to do a couple of bride and groom shots. Notice Ben carrying my bouquet. This is very us. I'm so spoiled.

Somehow my dad had made it to the WP and for about 2 minutes there was talk about me going with Ben in our Rolls Royce. I spoke up and told them I wanted my dad to escort me and Disney made it happen. He was literally there in like 5 minutes. Don’t be afraid to tell Disney what you want because it’s your day and they want you to be happy.

During our short ride to the WP my dad was crying and the chauffeur was like that’s how I was when my daughter got married. It was very sweet and I’m happy I insisted on going with my dad.

When we got to the WP we were taken into the brides vestibule where my bridal party was waiting. Ben’s sister retouched my lipstick and then there was some waiting. I kind of watched everyone walk from afar but I really wish the WP had like a little camera in the Bride’s Vestibule so that Bride’s can see her ceremony too! I guess I will have to wait until I get my video.
