I wasn't sure where to put this post, but since most of you have been to disney (and from your sigs, I see some of you have been there in Jan), I thought I would post here.
My fiance and I are thinking about going to Orlando for our honeymoon in January. But, he also mentioned that he wants to go someplace warm. We have never been to Florida in Jan, and though I know we'll have a great time no matter what, I don't want him to be disappointed weather-wise. Can anyone give me information/tips/advice on Orlando weather in January?
Thanks a bunch!

It can be really weird. It may be in the 60's one day then the next day in the 80's.

We went the last full week of Jan. 2005. The weather was pleasant, but I wouldn't call it "warm." It was nice park-touring weather, mid-60's, and we had a day or two that went into the 70's. Nights were a little bit chilly. My kids swam every day in the heated pools, but we're northeners! Good luck deciding (and congrats on the wedding).

We were also there in January and it was in the low 70's ( except for one day must have been near 80) and the nights were chilly (but still warm for us as we are also from the North!) :wave2:

We have been the last 2 years in Jan and experienced warm and cold weather. Best advice, be prepared for both. But this is a great time to be there. Low crowds, very little wait times. Enjoy!

The last few years have been pretty nice, with temperatures in the 70s and 80s. However, normally, we've experienced everything from that down to evening temperatures in the low 50s. Be prepared for just about everything in January.

Hmmm...if he wants to go someplace warm, WDW may not be the best vacation destination. We spent 8 days there near the end of January this year. It was warm during our visit (low 80's three of the days of our trip & the rest 70s) but I know the week before we went & the week after, it was downright chilly some days. (I know because I kept checking on weather.com).

The mornings & evenings were all chilly.

Of, course, if you're coming from way far north, this may be perfectly toasty to you. We were there in Jan. 2004 and it was in the 70's. We left Cleveland in the middle of a sleet storm so 70's sounded great to us. It all depends on your perspective.

Good luck!

We went in mid January 2005 and at least one night was down right FREEZING! (32 degrees no exaggeration!) We ended up having to buy winter hats for the kids. I think it was because it was also a very windy night. The key thing is to plan for anything.

We were there this past January for 10 days. The beginning of the trip was down right chilly! We were in Sea World with jeans and sweatshirts on. By the end of the trip I was buying new baby clothes because it was too hot for anything I had packed for my daughter. That time of year it really varies day to day.

Have a great trip!

We went in Jan. 2002 and will be going again in Jan. 2007. When we were there in 2002 for 7 days, it was in the mid to late 80's almost all week. We're from Michigan and we were downright hot! Luckily we were prepared, as I checked the weather forecast before we went. But I have a brother and sister-in-law who lives in Orlando and he said those extremely warm temps were rare for January. He told us, for right now, to plan on bringing jeans and sweatshirts and probably a wind breaker type of clothing. But also, you can bet that the day before we leave for our trip, I will be checking the weather forecast to decide what I'm going to pack for sure.

I'd say that if he's really counting on somewhere with warm weather, I'm not sure DW will be the best choice. It all depends on how disappointed he would be if the warm temps don't happen.

I agree with the other posters. In January it can be hit or miss on the warm weather. If Canada decides to export a cold front, it can get down right chilly at WDW.

Coming from the cold UK, I can assure you that I have visited water parks on both my Jan trips, although I do remember wearing a sweatshirt a couple of times, yes it is a bit variable but the low crowds are so worth it,

I agree with the other posters. I've been there many times in January and have found the temps to vary greatly--the coldest was an 18 degree windchill. I've experience frost a few times, too. A friend of mine had her down jacket on, and people were offering to buy if off her back! (We're from upstate NY.) It was just cold!

Other times, it has been quite pleasant. Be warned though, when the sun sets, it gets chilly!

It's my favorite time of year at WDW!!
