A BIG apology to the 'regulars' here as I failed miserably in November and December at keeping this up. Fortunately, the house is almost back to normal, my legs are much better - still a bit bruised and tender, but getting there - so I can actually exercise and get around.

Time to get MOVING!!!! Spring and shorts/swimsuit weather will be here soon!

As usual commit to as few or as many minutes of exercise as you wish to challenge yourself to do. Please post here something like "I'm at 21/400" or just 310/1000. That way I don't have to search to add up all your numbers.

10% - Getting Started!
25% - On your way!
50% - Half-way there!
75% - You CAN do it!
90% - Just a little bit more!
100% - You DID it!
Over the top!

Another challenge eh? Oh boy this is a tough one since I am doing zero.

I will make it realistic for my first one. I am going to go 540 which is 20 mins a day starting today.

Hi Julie. I'm in! Still have a nasty cold, so I am going to try to be realistic here and go for a 1000.

So I'm at 50/1000 so far.:goodvibes

MM--I think that's a good goal! Success breeds success!

Rose&Mike I hope you are right! I am finally on the mend and got myself on my treadmill.

And hey if I go over my goal, then I guess I go over it.:thumbsup2

Current goal status is now
20/540

Off to update! Welcome everyone! Remember ANYTHING you consider exercise IS exercise. Just GET MOVING!!!!!!!!

I'm in. I'm going to set it at 560(Changed to 750 see later reply for details) which will push me since I'm just starting back up the exercise. So far for the month I am only at 70/750 so I gotta step it up.

I'm mostly alternating walking(outside or with dvd) along with Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred which is quite challenging for me(can we say push ups and jumping jacks  ). I have not built endurance for 30 Day Shred daily but one day. I honestly already feel a bit more stamina just in the 3 days(and one doing some of the movements) so its building up. WOOHOO

I walked outside but its really to the bus stop and back which takes about 10 minutes. I time it so I get there right as he pulls up usually so its a nice smooth walk. I may work on taking a detour and walk the long way home it will add extra cardio but I am switching to alternating Walk Away the Pounds(its 45 minutes so it will start boosting my minutes) for the intended exercise. The walks to bus stop and any longer trip back I go will be extra.

Today I did 30 Day Shred.

Jan. 5 - 60 strength
Jan. 6 - 65 cardio

I have used Jillian's 30 Day Shred, and it's amazing how 1 minute of cardio at a time can kill you! I value my joints, so I now stick with the Nordic Track and stationary bike in my basement for my cardio workouts. For strength training, I have been using mostly Core Fusion DVDs.

I'm here! My goal for Jan will be 1500 min.

So far I am at 240/1500.

I am getting much stronger as I work on my physical therapy, so much so that I can really see the difference in what I am able to do on pretty much a daily basis. It's the little things though that seem to mean the most to me. For example, I can now balance on 1 foot again! I had no idea that my bad hip was causing my inability to do that!
I am actually done now with my outpatient PT, but have been given a free 30 day membership at the National Training Center here in Clermont and I plan to continue my rehab on my own by going there. I started yesterday with a trainer showing me around and giving me a workout and will be doing an assessment workout with another trainer within the next week. I am really enjoying learning to use all the machines that I have never had a chance to use before. I hope we have a warm Jan here in FL so I can get in their pool, too. It's outdoors so you won't see me in it on the days when the temps are in the 40's-60's like we have been having, but it is heated so if we get into the 70's I'm in! :fish:

As for last month, I never got back here to finish off my entries but I finished with 1760/1500 min! :cool1: Way better than I thought I would be able to do!

Julie, glad to hear your life is starting to settle down some. Hope 2011 is a good year for you!

I'm going to aim for 600 minutes - and will begin tomorrow when I go back to the gym after a 2-3 month hiatus... grr, I hate the winter!

As of today 0/600

I'd like to change my goal to 750 total because I decided to count my walks to the bus stop since in a way I could work around the walk but chose to walk down there. ;) So with that change I'm at 305/750 including the walks to bus stop not factored into the last total i posted and Saturday I did 45 minutes Walk Away the Pounds and Sunday I did 150 minutes of walking at the zoo. Granted some stops here and there make it less in intense and not as many calories per say but my feet and legs sure were tired when we left.

I just want to stay challenged otherwise I'd see myself blowing way to close and afraid I'd skip some figuring I had enough minutes to spare.

:cool1:

Jan. 10 - 60 strength
Jan. 11 - 65 cardio
Jan. 12 - 60 strength
Jan. 13 - 65 cardio

I am now up to 510/750 :woohoo::cheer2: At this rate I could reach 1000 in a month for the first time in a long long time.

Oh good. I am trying to stretch out that stupid back of mine. Today, I walked 60mins on the treadmill. With only 15lbs to lose, I have got to exercise and beef it up at that. I am going to walk this week and see how it goes, with weight loss and pain. I DO NOT want to hurt myself. So far, so good.:thumbsup2
