January Disneyland and Universal

We are looking at visiting January 2025, prior to 21st. How are the crowds? Any recommended week for lower crowds?
We have been multiple times to Disney World and Universal Orlando. Considering doing both Disneyland and Universal. Being our first time, how many days do you recommend spending at each park? Prefer to take our time and not be stressed running around to see everything.

I think trying to guess a non busy time is pretty much impossible now days. It is pretty much always busy. I would recommend 3 days at Disney. That should give you enough time to do everything you want. You can always stay for more but I would do atleast 3.

I would also plan 1 day for USH. You really dont need more then that. If you have been to Universal Orlando I feel like USH will be a letdown.

Maybe consider Knotts Berry Farm if you are into roller coasters instead of USH? Will save you some money and time. That drive from Anaheim to USH isnt fun.

1. Don't try to commute between DL and Universal. Many fly into Burbank, stay near Universal, then drive down to DL, and fly out of SNA. There are several threads and trip reports from people who have visited both parks. If I find them, I'll edit this post and link them for you.

2. For a leisure visit, I would plan 2.5 days at Disneyland and 1.5 at DCA. If you have small children, you might want longer at each park.

3. The past two Januarys have been pretty wet. Have a plan B in case the rain is bad on any given day(s).
