January crowds

I understand the crowds are better in January, but what about the few days following New Years? We are trying not to miss school, and the kids will be finishing up Christmas break. We were thinking about Jan 1-5?

It really depends on how the majority of the nation's winter breaks fall. Last year, January 1-5 was crowded, with crowds thinning as the week progressed. Although they were heavy at the beginning, it still was a wonderful time to go.
