I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :beach:

Have a great cruise!

We might join you. My DS12 and I are trying to decide which cruise to do. We are booked for Feb 6th, but he might change it up to find other kids his age;)

i love the fact that it is so easy to meet new people and make new friends on a disney cruise, adn we've got 4 pre teen/teen kids that will happily make new friends so they can get away from each other! lol:rotfl2:

Where is Wirral? We have toured a bit of the UK. Do your boys enjoy the EPL? Nico's favorite player is Bale and therefore, Tottenham. We have been to Fulham game and tottenham in 2012. 2014 He and I are headed to Barcelona and Real Madrid games. (The schedule isn't out for April 2014, but we are impatiently waiting :)

If your boys are more into rugby, I played in college and Nico played at school. He doesn't want to do that professionally though. Too rough for him.:lmao:

Hiya,

The Wirral is in the North West of England. Near Chester and Liverpool.

My sons love Football and both support Tottenham's London rivals West Ham United.

Football takes up most of my life to be honest, i coach and my buisness is based around Football also :)

That was it :) We are switching and he is too excited to meet all of you! You and my son would get a long famously, considering football takes up most of his life too.:lmao:

He has been homeschooling for some time because he trains football 6 days a week. On the cruise, he will be the one with a ball at his foot.:rotfl:

It's just nice to meet another family that understands him, even if you are West Ham fans. ;) Believe me, West Ham is a welcomed change. My cousins (the only other people we know that watch soccer/football) are Chelsea fans:crazy2:

This is Nico and me almost a year ago, but it's easier to have faces and names. He will be older, but his face really hasn't changed since he was a baby. So he is an easy one to spot.

This will be our first time on the Magic. I have been on the Dream twice and this will be my 3rd cruise. This is Nico's first cruise. Right now, we have the early dining, but as it gets closer we will see what time the activities are and we might switch.

We are planning on doing the dolphin excursion, if I can get us signed up for it. Jan can be hit or miss with weather, but hopefully, it will be warm down there. Other than that, he was more interested in hanging with friends. Since it is just the two of us, I guess I am going to catch up on my book list.;)

:lmao::lmao:

If your boys are interested, I'll have Nico set up a Kids Only thread and they can chat as well. I am sure more kids will be on here as it gets closer. Let me know and I will have him get that done tomorrow.

So nice to meet all of you. :goodvibes I now have a 4 day cruise instead of 3 days:cool1:

kids thread is a great idea, I'm sure Sam and Ethan would love to talk sports, and hopefully as the thread develops a few girls might appear for Yoyo and Cheeks....(they are nicknames!!). i'm going to have to figure out how to put some pics up on this.

I LOVE your kids nicknames!! Awesome :) Nico is short for Dominic, but no one calls him that unless he is in trouble. One time, he wasn't paying attention at a match and I was trying to let him know I was leaving. After calling Nico 4 times, I yelled, "Dominic" and needless to say, I got his attention.;)

The girls can feel free to chat it up as well. Nico's closest school mate is a girl so he talks to everyone. I have daughters, they just aren't going on this trip.;)

On our last cruise we really enjoyed taking part in the fish extender fun. so i'll get things started for this cruise.
If you'd like to join, please post the following information and be sure to subscribe to this thread to receive updates:

-- DISboard username
-- Cabin # (if you know it already)
-- Family Last Name (helps with personalizing family gifts)
-- First names of those participating, ages of kids in cabin and whether boys (B) or girls (G)
-- Favorite Disney character for each of the people in your cabin, if any (this helps if people make gifts specific to the people in the room)
-- Any special cruise celebrations
-- Any food allergies, etc

If you are uncomfortable posting any of the personal information, you can simply say "Adult, Male" or "Girl, 8" for example. As families join, I'll keep a master list of our group on entry #2 below. That way, you can go back to that entry at anytime to see who all is in our group. The week after our cut-off has passed, I can make a spreadsheet of all the info., organized by deck for convenience, and either post it to Google Docs or you can PM with your e-mail so I can send it to you.

For those who are new to this fun cruise experience, the Fish Extender itself is a pocket panel you hang from the fish shaped hook outside your stateroom. These can be homemade or purchased you can also find some pictures on Google or DIS forums for ideas. Families that join the FE group hang the Fish Extender outside their cabin and then exchange little gifts with others participating in the group by putting little gifts in each other’s extenders.

It's a ton of fun, not just for kids, and you can either give one gift to each cabin, or a gift to each person in the cabin. You can give gifts a few times throughout the cruise or just once. No real set rules, just exchange and have fun! Gifts can be homemade or store bought. That's part of the fun . . . the variety of gifts that everyone brings!

Also, you might bring a couple of zip ties to help attach your FE. Some people have commented, unfortunately, that theirs have walked away. BUT that’s a lot less likely if it’s attached with a zip tie (just don’t forget scissors or clippers to cut the zip tie when you're going home!)

All gifts should be delivered between the cruise leaving port on Monday, January 6th and early evening on Thursday, January 9th. That will give people time to still be able to pack their bags on Wednesday (they usually have to be outside cabin doors by 10:30 that evening) before we leave the ship on friday morning.

I will be putting a regulary updated list of people taking part as we get near to cruise time.

Our group will close december 6th (1 month prior to sail date). This allows people plenty of time to order, make, assemble, personalize, etc their gifts. Thank you!!

I'm just getting us started and organized, so if anyone has any other ideas or suggestions, please post!! Can't wait to see:dance3: everyone!

Here is the KIDS ONLY thread link!!

We are taking a huge trip this summer, starting in Singapore and ending in Austria. Then over Thanksgiving, we are headed to Fiji for 12 nights. So if we drop out for lengths at a time, that is why. We will try to catch up and keep up with the thread once we are back.

So excited!! 44 more Sundays :yay::yay:

I'm not sure if I will be able to join in this time. Between the huge trip this summer and then 2 weeks in Fiji late Nov - early Dec, I don't think I will have time to get it all together. :(

I believe it will be in dry dock in Spain for 6 weeks in the fall with the first scheduled cruise early October. "Rumors" are complete state room overhauls and major changes to the club area lay outs.

A nice sparkly ship for us to enjoy :)
