January 30, 2011 Wonder Mexican Riviera ANYONE OUT THERE????

Kids were a bit pushy in line waiting (or not waiting) their turn. That was a bit disappointing for my kids who lost pins they were interested in because they were patiently waiting their turn.

ITA about kids being pushy in lines! We did not do the pin trading, but one day DD kept going on the Mickey slide, and almost every time we went up to get her on the slide, kids would be running or crawling past her. DD walks a little slow, so I really don't mind if other kids want to go around us, but running and pushing and almost knocking DD over is unacceptable! One girl actually did fall running to get past us. And, you know when kids act like that, the parents are no where to be found.

We did pin trading with the officers on the last night. We just got there just 15 to 20 minutes before it was over so it sounds like we missed some of the lines as there was no line when we got there. Most of the officers were free to trade and a couple were trading with one child as we worked our way down the line. I didn't see any vinylmation pins so I guess we missed that but my son got some different pins and enjoyed it.

So, the book they have at the gift shop ( which gift shop?) was a pin trading book? I didn't notice anyone with felt squares for pin trading but then I wasn't looking for it. Once you know to look for something then of course, then you notice it was there all along.

Just wanted to thanks to all those DIS'ers that gave us FE gifts. It was our first time time participating in an FE group and it was awesome!! Even though it was just my DH and I in our room - we totally looked forward to getting those gifts everyday. We put everything into a bag and waited to open everything when we got home... to keep the magic going. It was overall an awesome trip! Thanks DIS'ers!

YAY!!!!!!!!!! I just snagged an opening for august on the DREAM!!!!! They have been booked since before our cruise. I decided to check frequently to see if something becomes available and it did!!! No FE list has been mentioned. ??? Hopefully there will some takers!

Congratulations! We booked a dummy cruise and are about ready to move it since we just got our dates for our fall break. Now we just have to decide if we want to do 7 days on the MR Wonder again or 7 days on the Magic in the Caribbean. I'm leaning toward the Magic at this point.

I have to agree that there was no organization to the pin trading with officers. We saw some kids looking at the pin book in the store. My kids had a great time trading Vinylmations in the store. They let them choose out of the display case and even brought out a big box of doubles that they had in the back. They were able to find a lot of Vinyls that they were missing from thier collections.

We didn't get in on the FE from this cruise, but are looking forward to taking part during our next cruise.

I also wanted to give kudos to our server, Vitchuron(10 years on the Wonder), and our assistant server, Lito(7 years on the Wonder) as well as Lee, our awesome stateroom host. If I could have packed them in my suitcase and smuggled them home, I would have!:rotfl2:

I talked to Lito up on deck one morning when I was up early. He was a really nice guy and interesting to talk to. Those servers and assistants work very hard!
My son is not as much into pin trading as he was but I wish I had known about the pin trading book in the store. We just traded with the officers that one night but would have traded in the store if we had known. Now, I know for the next cruise!

That's awesome:thumbsup2 I really want to do the Fantasy to the Caribbean and see the Dream, but I think we will wait until the military sends us back to the east coast(probably in the next 2 years). I know you will have an amazing time!!!
