January 28, 2007, 4 nights on the WONDER

Today is the 90 day mark!!!

If you've cruised with DCL before, go make your ressies! I was going to get up early to make reservations, but then I decided I'd be okay to wait a few hours. I just made Palo reservations and booked the jet-ski tour and parasailing at Castaway Cay. I think we're doing Nassau on our own. What is everyone else doing?

Is today your 90 day mark due to you having cruised before? Our 90 day for the same cruise is November 10th -since we are checking in on the 24th. I also read that we won't be able to make our reservations till 3:00 am of the 11th? Is that right or is it 3:00 am of the 10th???

For first time DCL cruisers (like us), you can book 75 days in advance. We're going DW after the cruise, so our 75 day mark is 11/14. I guess that means I get up at 2am on the morning of Nov 14 - ugh! I have to catch a flight at noon that day!

I see - wasn't sure how that 3:00 in the morning thing worked - if it is 3:00 in the morning the day of your 75th out or not.

Just to confirm also - is the 75 days out from your first day of checking into Disney or from the day of sailing?

It is 75 days from the sail date, but maybe it is different if you are doing land & sea. It doesn't hurt to check or ask others on the cruise forum. Reservations open at 3am EST. I wasn't positive on my 90 day mark, so tried to do my reservations yesterday and it wasn't up yet. It worked this morning. For some reason I couldn't book Palo at 8am MDT, but then I tried around 9am and it worked. :confused3

I remember last time the site was down for a few days, so I couldn't book when I should have been able to. I was still able to get what I wanted.

Just in case any of you can't get what you want when booking in advance, don't worry, you can probably change it on the ship. If you want to go to Palo on a certain night and it is full, just book a back-up and then get it changed once you board. They save some reservations for booking once on board.

Thanks Shauna! I will double check but I think you are right - it is from sailing date. Glad you got what you wanted - seems a little stressful when you only have 4 days and want to do certain things on certain days (like Palo brunch) - hopefully they will still be available when it is our turn to book! pixiedust:

When you book your excursions or spa on line do they request your credit card right away or do they charge you once you are on board?

I sure hope we can stop at Castaway Cay, out of all of the ports I've been to, it is my favorite. I guess it is a good thing that the sea day is planned for the day after, so in case the scheduled day is bad they can try the next day.

How was the weather on your cruise last January? We've only sailed in October and it has been 80s-100s.

This is what I really love about Disney. We docked at CC on our regular day and the weather wasn't that great (windy and big storm hit at around 2:00 pm). We set sail as usual and the captain announced we would cruise that night and dock again at CC in the morning! :cool1: Nothing like a bonus day at CC! :thumbsup2

Shauna-to answer your ? about the weather, both times we have cruised have been this same week in Jan. It is about high 70-low 80's during the day and can be cool at night. The water in the Bahamas and CC is quite cool (About 70) and DD's lips turned purple after snorkeling about 30 minutes in the deep water! We had a great time, but be prepared for some cool weather!

They charge it to your shipboard account. So, you don't have to pay for it until the end of the cruise. That way you can book things in advance and then if you change your mind all you have to do is go online and cancel or change it (I think excursions can be changed 48 hrs before sailing with no penalty).

Have any of you been following the craziness over on the community board? I got on yesterday, and Ty Pennington caught my eye. There are pages and pages of posts. Looks like fun, but I don't have time to keep up!

I think he's shown up on most of the boards. A week ago I saw a post on the Cruise board. I don't really know what to think of it, so I guess I'll just wait until the big announcement or whatever it is.

YEAH! We are getting so excited! My DSIL and I were both up at 3:00 to make ressies - got everything we wanted including Palo Brunch! :surfweb:

Pirate costumes were delivered this week and plans to get together and make door signs are coming next! pirate:

From what I understand Santa scored 4 pairs of Disney Crocs for under the tree as well. :smooth:

There will certainly be 4 very excited girls in our group come January! :cheer2:

Glad to hear that you got all of the ressies that you wanted! Now we just have to be patient and wait for January 28th to roll around.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Just wondering if anyone on this cruise with a guaranteed cabin gotten there room assignment yet? Just 55 days left. :grouphug:

We don't have a guarantee cabin this time, but our last 2 cruises we did have a guarantee and got our room assingment about 4 weeks ahead.

I am not sure exactly what you meen but if you are referring to your cabin number - we have known that since we booked back in March. It came on our reservation sheet from the travel agent. They couldn't tell us what room number we would have at the resort till we check in - apparently those are not figured out till a day or two ahead of time.
