January 24, 2013 3-Night Bahamian Cruise on Disney Dream

I can't PM this for some reason...so here it is.
Thanks so much for coordinating :)
Myself Christine, husband Abriam, son 18 Matt, daughter 6 Addyson.
Brother Kyle, wife Ashleigh, daughter 5 Brylie, daughter 3 Bria.
When we know our room #'s, I will let you know.

You sound just like my friend Kelly... :lmao: So excited you guys are coming on the ship with us!!! PS to anyone else...anyone have an inside stateroom we can see?

I'm guessing this is on the Family Beach? If it happens to be on Serenity Bay, I'd probably snag it up... I can't access my ressie now to check, something is up with dcl.com

Yeah, it's on the family beach :worried:

Hey DCL veterans - autograph question - I am
Planning to drop off two items for signatures at guest services when we arrive. Are the kids also able to see autographs at character greetings?

We are going to have lots of tween/teen boys on this cruise, my stepson will be thrilled!

I think I am going to set up the cut off day for the FE as 12/24. That way I will have time to get the list together (sorry for the lack of updates, I haven't been able to get time to go on my computer in days) and out to everyone.

Also, if anyone is interested in Cabana 9, please PM me, we might be letting it go. I'll let you know when so you can snag it right up!

Would love to know if anyone has a favorite character. Got my FE today - super cute! Can't wait!

My son would probably like Jack Sparrow or Goofy depending on what you mean. I just got my FE last week. Very happy with mine also. :goodvibes

I have a question for all of you with pre-teen or teen boys. I was wondering for the dress-up night are your boys wearing ties or sport coats?:confused3

We made our FE today and our pleased with the outcome!

My daughter, Molly, says Tinkerbell. My son, Mason, says Mickey. Mine is probably also Mickey, and my DH did not want to participate so we say Grumpy! (That's also who we put on his FE pocket.)

And I already have a question. I just booked Cabana #8 on the Family Beach while at Castaway Cay (we will likely stay on the ship while in Nassau as we want to explore the ship)...when do I pay for the Cabana? The website didn't require payment at this time...is that normal? Thanks, M

I believe the cabana is charged to your ship account. You may cancel the cabana up to 3 days prior to sailing, after that it's non-refundable.

Hey everyone, I just saw cabana 20 is available for those looking for one on serenity beach.

HI:wave2:

we just got off the Hawaii cruise in October..and well we cruise a lot being empty nesters.. Been on the Dream once before...

( if this is TMI, just skip) we were booked for our anniversary cruise out of Galveston but DCL changed the iternary and we moved our cruise to another date..( placeholder for 2014) anyway..

we just booked this for our anniversary instead..and I am VERY excited.

On Hawaii, I did the Champaign Girls gathering..would do it again if interested..on the Dream it is easy..as we have Pink's, so it is just setting a time for the gathering. On Hawaii, we had Champaign Girls and Stud Muffins ( or the men who love them) ..let me know if you are interested..

Hi Geffeic, looking forward to cruising with you! Also looking forward to seeing the new ship, have seen magic and wonder.

Welcome!!! You can be in our no kids on board club. :) I'll be the one at the Quiet Cove pool with a big old drink in my hand all day long. :cool1: And hopefully Kelly (previous poster) will be there with me. oh yeah, and our hubbys too I guess. LOL

Thanks for the heads up! I got it!!! Now, not sure I want to pay $400, but I have it reserved and some time to think about it... :)

Even with 2 dcl cruises under my belt I'm still a novice, what is champagne girls?

It started years ago.. Basically it is a group called the "Champagne Girls", who meet during cruises, dressed in pink, wearing tiaras and pink boas, just for the purpose to have a few drinks and fun meet-ups.

On Hawaii, we did a Champagne tasting and included "stud muffins" or (men)..On the Dream , last year, we meet at Pink's and chatted and wore pink .
It can be whatever any one wants ..

The last time we cruised my boys were 8 and 5 and we did not have them "dress". They wore polo shirts and khakis. I was concerned about this as well and, yes, some people really dress for this night. We are not a "dressy" family, and the aggravation of getting my boys to wear coats or ties was not worth it to me. There were people dressed all kinds of ways and probably less really dressed up than you would see on another cruise line. Our travel agent who obviously travels quite a bit had gotten pirate themed ties for her boys for a sailing, which is cute and may be more fun for them to wear...

when my boys were little, they worn clean pants without holes and shirts with collars..no ties or sport coats.

Hello all! Officially joining the group-booked VGT tonight for this sailing :banana::banana:

It will be myself, my DH, and my DD13. Looking forward to getting out of the Northeast for a long weekend of relaxation!
