According to Disneyland, Spring 2025, my guess is sometime in March possibly early April.

Do you know what's being done to the ride? I guess my real question is: should I still come next month, or wait until the reopening in case something spectacular is added to the ride?

Small World happens to be my favorite ride at Disneyland.

Small World happens to be my favorite ride at Disneyland.

Replacement of some ride structures, electrical and water pipe replacement.
It is a major maintenance refurb. Disneyland did not state anything was being added.
It is your choice to go next month be sure it is early January 2025.

While it is for maintenance

I would be shocked if they didn't add something for the 70th.....maybe Moana being added or something maybe they will ignore the 70th but with Pan getting a redone scene and HM rumored to have new effects/redone scenes for the 70th I'd just be surprised if they didn't add something with small world down so long

Waiting for more bad news to drop tomorrow. At this rate I won't be coming next month.

I suspect more refurbs will pop up. The Railroad popped up today with less than 30 days notice. The same for the Monorail less than 30 days.

To me it is obvious Disneyland will be doing a lot of refurbs starting in January through May 15. They purposely are having the refurbs before the start of the 70th celebration and the 70th and are having the kids ticket sale and SoCal resident sale to try to keep attendance steady.

Given that the railroad just reopened in October, any guesses as to how long the refurb in January might be? I'll be going February 6-13, and the railroad is quite possibly my favourite attraction!

I am not sure where you are getting the 1/21 date from. I know that date 1/21 was previously announced and floated out there. Right now, They are no operating times for Small World Holiday starting on Sunday 1/12. Last day for operation is Saturday 1/11.

FYI: they've added Small World Holiday hours through 1/20. It's marked on the daily calendar as being closed on 1/21.

I suspect the railroad will be down all of February and part of March. I expect the railroad will reopen in the early to mid spring of 2025. The railroad was down for a total of 10 weeks that started in August 2024.

They are replacing another section of track like they did last time around. So as Joseph stated it will probably be down for a similar length of time.
