This recent thread has some information on Jan. 2020: Ride refurbishments January 2020. There should be more official information about 6 weeks out from your dates. With ROTR opening on 1/17, it's a little hard to guesstimate what will go down for refurb, given the crowds that are expected to show up for that weekend. But you can be pretty sure that either HM or IASW will be down to remove the holiday overlays. Be aware that IJA and Snow White have announced plans for refurbs, but there are no official dates yet.

Oh nooo please say that date is for Disneyland and not for WDW - we're booked at Jambo AKL for 17th January and hoping ROTR is still on target for Dec 5th 2019 opening so some of the hype will have died down.

Since this is the DLR board, yes, the official opening date for ROTR at DL is 1/17/20.
