Keep checking. My rates are finally dropping little by little (my trip spans marathon weekend and MLK weekend) I started out over $400 now down to $288 with Alamo for a standard rental for 10 days...

Tonight using coupon code 5C11M with Dollar, I found a full sized car for 8 days for $195.48. I works with Thrifty as well but their car was $200.51. The way I see it is that $5 is tolls to and from the airport.

The prices are FINALLY starting to fall and Dollar/Thrifty are the only ones who are honoring coupons at this time!

Question for the group, we have never rented with Dollar before (usually Alamo or enterprise... but not going to pay 40 dollars more for the free driver!) So is there a benefit to joining their renters rewards program? I just don't like handing out our CC and drivers license if we may not even keep this rental (I am always game for a better rate) In the end I see they have an online check in if I decide to keep the rental - would that give me the faster service anyway?

Enter your date time etc... Do not enter any promo codes. Go to the next step that gives the base rates on the cars... There is a yellow/orange box that days City Special 2-3 rows from the top. It will then go and retrieve the discounted rates.

I checked Costco first then took the discount code they listed and used it on the alamo site. Same price either way.

That's great. I'm a BJ's member, not Costco. The standard rate for Jan 11-18 is $217 .

Well..I have nothing to report regarding a January rental car discount.... BUT! Its now December 1st.

That means we all can officially say that we are heading on holidays next month .

Ok... now back to code hunting!
