January 19, 2014 Disney Wonder 5 Night Western Carribean Cruise

DH and I decided to rent DVC points to stay at one of the Disney Resorts after the cruise before we head back to Maryland. We won't be hitting the parks which I don't think the kids will mind since they insisted on hitting the resort pool twice a day on our last WDW trip. We will be able to enjoy all the amenities the resort has to offer instead of just working them in around our parks schedule. I imagine we will be spending some time at DTD as well. We'll be able to pay for the resort at the end of the month so will find out at that point which resort we are able to book.

Just six short months until our cruise

Sounds like a great way to top off a vacation :thumbsup2

I am never one to wish the summer away....but I really can't wait for January!

We only did a small trip to Cedar Point last week so I am really wanting my real vacation.

I think its going to be a nice time...right after the Holidays to really relax!

Are you flying out of BWI...we are kinda of in the middle of PIT and BWI so I go where the $$$ is....haha...or isn't I guess. I could kick myself for not booking last week or maybe it was the week before when they had the $69 special from BWI to FLL. I looked at it real fast at work and then forgot about till this week and it was almost double

:thumbsup2 I think DS and I are going to do the same thing. We own DVC so I think we're going to drive from the Port to WDW, stay at the VWL, and do just one day in MK. Friday night will be a resort night and then we'll have all day in MK Saturday. We'll fly home Sunday.

The only DVC Studios that I saw as unavailable last week were the new VGF. You may have a pretty good choice. Which one are you looking into?

We will be driving. We'll take a couple of days to drive down to Miami and then drive straight through on the way home. The kids do remarkably well in the car. The DVD player and ipod touches help a lot!

We will be visiting friends who live outside Altoona Labor Day Weekend and just signed up for the Steelers 5K run (http://www.steelers.com/fan-zone/Gatorade-Steelers5K.html). Our friends are huge Steelers fans and the race was so cheap I couldn't resist.

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to see this thread! This will my family's 2nd cruise. It's me, my DH and my twin DD's! I have to agree with other posts I have read on here that I can't wait to start our FE group. I already know what I'm making, but who knows if that will change in the upcoming months:confused3

:cheer2: Welcome!! :thumbsup2

I have never done the FE...I think I may this time! I don't remember them being that big on our first in 2007 and I didn't really get involved in my meet thread for my second because we traveled with family. Its just the fab four again this time...and I think I will! Sounds fun :)

I wouldn't mind driving. But DH is a truck driver...actually a milk man...haha...so when I say my kids look like the milkman...They Really Do! :rotfl: So anyway. I hate to make him drive on vacay when he has to all the time. I would drive...but he would have a cornary by time we arrived in Miami :confused3

As far as Altoona...we are 25 miles away. We are there a few times a month with Doctors appts and shopping and such. I actually do some side photography and headed there this weekend to shoot a reception.

I "ran" :crazy2: my first and last 5k in Pittsburgh last year as part of a relay team for the Pittsburgh Marathon. It was a great time and experience though. I actually thought about signing all four of us up for the Steeler 5k for a couple years....but resistance is strong in the lineman of my house..haha.

Does anyone have a link to our cruises FE page? Do we know who is leading it? Forgive me if this question has already been asked.pixiedust:

No one has volunteered to lead the FE although a few of us have expressed an interest in participating :)

Hello all...just stopping bye.:thumbsup2

So how far along in planning is everyone? Just starting to figure out things myself. :surfweb:

I really didn't care for Miami when we were there in 09 so I am thinking of just vegging and getting a good meal somewhere the night we fly in.

We did enjoy the Everglades and Airboat rides. I would recommend it for all ages.

Hope all is welll and we get a little more chatty as the cruise gets closer.

:wave2: I'm still trying to find a reasonably priced hotel that doesn't look terrible for the night before the cruise. Flying into FLL around 5:00 so will only be there to sleep and find a dinner place but I'm not liking what I'm finding for less than $150. Still plenty of time so will keep looking.

Hi Everyone!

We haven't officially booked, yet, but this is the cruise I want (DH wants the Fantasy...) and since he owes me a birthday and anniversary present...

Also, it's nice to see so many Marylanders!

JUST starting to catch up on the posts DW and I live in Edgewood (I work in Balt. she in Reisterstown) and both are dedicated Disney cruiser. We are doing back to backs 15th/19th which will be #'s 9 and 10. And #11 will be the September 2014 Panama Canal cruise.

Maybe a Marylander's get together party prior to the cruise?

I know, everything I'm finding is over $200 for Miami. :faint: I'm guessing Saturday night isn't helping any.

 Hi everyone.

We stayed at the Quality Inn/Hollywood for one night before. I got it on Hotwire and was pleasantly surprised. My only complaint was my non smoking room smelled like smoke...but it was clean and good for one night.

Thanks so much, I've seen this one a few times on my searching. That's all I need, somewhere clean to sleep for one night.

We are hoping for Boardwalk or Wilderness Lodge :) I just mailed the check on Thursday so hopefully we will find out soon which resort we will be staying at.

You are welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again....I was really surprised that it was 150.00 a night now. Guess that's what 4 years does...haha.

Its right on the highway...nothing fancy...comfy and clean. Easy to get to FLL from.

:)

Hi. My mom, son (age 7), and I will be on this cruise. It's going to be a Christmas present for my son and it's going to be so hard to keep this a secret! This is a first cruise for all of us.
