January 17th 2014 Disney Magic 3 Night Bahamas Cruise

I guess we are in too! It was just such a good time with the kids being out of school and us wanting to see the redesigned Magic, we had to book. Plus, we're using our DVC points because we had something else planned for those points that we canceled.

Judy - I hope your kids and mine become fast friends on the Thanksgiving day cruise since they may be seeing a lot of each other.

Welcome to those who just booked! The extra sea day is the best.

Re: Palo, I have never not been able to get in, even when the website says no availability. Just go to the designated place when you get on board and they seem to have plenty of spaces still available. Not sure why they hold them back.

Thanks for decked out for volunteering to be in charge of the FE gift exchange!

On the last 3 day, we were told by a Palo's server that they keep about 2/3 aside for people who can't book online. She wished they let more people book online because she said Palo's is pretty empty on 3 day cruises. I hope we are able to get the brunch when we get on board because I don't want to miss it.

My wife and I sailed on the Dream last October and just fell in love with the Disney cruise line. We are booked on this cruise along with my parents and sisters children. Niece is 8 and Nephew 9. Grandparents taking the grandchildren on their first Disney Cruise which is also their first. We told them they couldn't pass on the price and experiencing Disney Cruises. We would love to get the niece and nephew signed up for the FE. My wife and I have read all about it on the boards and know they would enjoy gift giving and receiving.

Hello everyone! We booked this cruise about 16 months ago when we were on the first Canadian sailing out of NYC. We were on the fence until the day before yesterday when we needed to either move the booking or pay in full. We paid in full and I'm really excited!

This will be our 8th DCL cruise. Our most recent was a back to back 8 night Bahamas/5 night Canadian for my 50th bd. Our family of four usually sails with friends, but this cruise we are alone. My dh Jeff, DD Katie (who will be 18 on November 21st and is dying to go to Palo), and our DD Bobbie who is 7 will be joining me, Suz. We are going to hit WDW for 2 days before the cruise but here is the fun part. We aren't going to tell our girls until the night before we leave. We have family activity night every Monday and we are planning to watch the WDW documentary DVD, knowing the girls will be saying, "I miss WDW so much when can we go again?" We'll drop the bomb... How about tomorrow? Cannot wait!

We have company coming for a week at Thanksgiving and 2 weeks at Christmas so the time will really fly by. Now is we can just get Palo brunch reservations for our DD, DH, and me we'll have everything set. We did a cabana on the 8 night for my BD, and wish that could happen again but they are obviously all gone. If anyone has one booked, has space, would like to split the cost with another family please let me know. It was amazing!!

Well, that's enough about us. I need to go back and read the thread to meet all of you. See ya real soon!

Anyone visiting the parks before the cruise? We are doing two nights and one day before hand.

We are! Staying at POP, Wednesday at Epcot and Thursday at MK with the Wishes dessert buffet booked for that night!

Hi Everyone, excited to say we just booked this cruise. We will be celebrating my daughter's graduation from College and my husband's retirement from the US Navy (30years) But really, do you have to have a reason to cruise....This is our 5th Disney Cruise so I will be gold in June when we sail to Alaska! Super Excited already....

Which Alaska sailing? We're on the June 2nd celebrating our DD HS graduation.

We're in for this cruise- myself (Kurt), DW (Michelle) and DD (Carisa). This will be our first Disney cruise but second cruise overall. We took a Carnival cruise last year for New Years on the Fantasy and LOVED IT! We are now officially hooked on "cruisin" and are really looking forward to see how Disney does it. With the wonderful time we had during our weeklong trip to Disney World of few years ago I am anticipating a good trip. We are also doing two nights at DW before the cruise with one day "hoppin the parks" (probably visit Epcot or Hollywood Studies and Magic Kingdom). January cannot get here soon enough. I already have gathered a wealth of information off of this site and appreciate everyone's indirect help to fellow cruisers!

We are also doing two days at WDW prior to the cruise!

Yes there is a brunch for the day at sea. See if you can get on the waiting list. 3 day cruises normally don't have a day at sea.:yay:
:cool1:

Is there a waiting list or do you just have to try to get a ressie when you board?

It's official! The final guest in our party has paid in full. We are definitely excited because this is our first big family trip; also it is the first time the kids will be cruising. We would love to participate in the Fish Extenders! Also, I would appreciate any advice or words of Disney cruise wisdom you would like to pass along.

Our party includes:
  • Neil (my husbandl)
  • Taylor -12 (daughter)
  • Joshua-6 (son)
  • Gorden and Sonja (my parents)
  • Inger and Richard (my cousins)
  • Rudolph (father- in-law)
  • Cynthia (mother-in-law)
  • Tyron (brother –in-law)
  • Neosha -13- (sister-in-law)
  • Devaunte -12 (brother-in-law)

Is there a waiting list or do you just have to try to get a ressie when you board?

You just try when you get on board. They hold
Back reservations for people who can't do it online but I'm not sure how many for the brunch.

Welcome to all the new cruisers! Info on FE signup will be posted soon. :cheer2: Liz

Hello Everyone!!! We booked this cruise too. Going on one in June to Alaska but that is soooo far away, I couldn't wait. haha. We sailed last January on the Dream and knew we were hooked. Really want to take part in a fe exchange. Didn't know anything about it when we sailed last January and after reading about what all the magnets and organizers with gifts left at the staterooms was about, I was sorry I hadn't done more research before we sailed. Please let me know how to sign up. On this cruise will be myself (37), boyfriend (38), dd (13), bdd (12) and bds

Looks like we will get to "meet" after all!! :rotfl: I'm not sure you remember or not but we were on the 6/16/14 Alaska sailing together and we ended up re-booking and went in 2013 instead and you were able to snag our SV cabin :goodvibes! Nice to see you here and welcome to the group!

Hello Heather,

Of course I remember you and the awesome cabin you let me snag. Still very excited about that. We chose to sail in 2 inside cabins on this cruise so very much still looking forward to my Verandah in June:woohoo:

Is it a small cruise world or do you find that you end up sailing with people you've sailed with before? Pretty cool that we will both be sailing in January together:cool1:

The FE is ON! :cool1: If you are not familiar with the FE Gift exchange, please read this post: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=33184281&postcount=2

If you want to participate in the FE Gift Exchange please send me a PM (private message) with the following info:

  1. Stateroom number(s)
  2. Number of stateroom occupants and ages of children.
  3. Special concerns, if any (food restrictions/allergies, etc)

Optional
Gender, names of stateroom occupants
Special occasions (birthday, anniversary, etc.)
Email address
Anything else you want people to know.

I will collect the information and put it into a google "sheet." I will share the sheet with you if you if you send me an email address. (gmail works best) Then you can check the sheet for updates at your convenience. If for some reason you can't access the sheet, I can send you updates at my convenience. :coffee: I think a reasonable deadline to get in on the FE is two weeks before the cruise or January 3rd. I will also post the final FE list on my stateroom door: 2141.

I welcome your suggestions and questions if you send them via PM.

Finally, I don't make the rules, but the idea is to have FUN. If something comes up and you can't pull this off exactly as planned, then try to improvise. After all, its anonymous! :smokin:
