I'll be on that cruise with my husband and two 5 year olds. We will be spending the previous week at Disney World. This will be our first trip to Disney.

WOW! Thats an amazing first trip to Disney World! You really know how to do it right.
Unfortunately I think my family may not be going on the cruise anymore. My DH hasn't worked in several weeks and I'm not sure when he'll be going back. We are still planning on going to Disney since we own in the DVC - but the cruise has to be cancelled.

Too bad you can't make the cruise. I knew I would be taking this trip since I found out I was pregnant 5 years ago. My husband thinks this is my dream, not the kids dream.
We're from Chicago too. Actually a suburb called Plainfield.

It looks like there haven't been posts here for a little while. My daughter & I were originally going to cruise in August, but decided that it was a bit cheaper to do January, so we'll be joining all of you.

I'll be doing the WDW Marathon also, so we'll be at WDW from the 8-10. We will also be celebrating DD's 17th birthday onboard.

Hopefully, more people will find the thread here and join in.

Hello. So I suppose you will be booking a massage on the cruise to work out your sore muscles from the marathon. I've run 2 marathons, but in Chicago and WIsconsin. The Disney marathon looks fun, good luck!

The Kids Sale Free offer saved our cruise!!! Now for our family of four the cruise is only costing us $947!! Plus if you subtract the $300 we already put down that brings our final cost to $647!! We are too excited!
Can't wait!!

Now hopefully we WILL go to Castaway Cay this time!!! And if we don't my family will take full responsibility. I think we're cursed when it comes to actually getting to Castaway Cay. (this will be our forth Disney Cruise, we've been to Castaway Cay once)

I'm going to participate in the Family Fun Run 5k on Friday before the trip.
I think that people who can finish a marathon are amazing!!!

If you guys want I can start a roll call of who's going to be on the Ship on my first post.

once you have more then 4 people in a room it gets very expensive. Sounds like a great time for you and your DD. I wish I went on a Disney Cruise with my mommy when I was 16!

This really wasn't a offer that could be passed up! I'm just glad the offered it before everyone was paid in full like they did last year! I bet DCL got allot of backlash from doing that. I know I was upset when I found out that some of the people in the dinning room sitting next to me got their kids on Mickey's Ship for free.

Dh is a super picky eater, so I am a little worried for him. he may be eating kids menu all week, lol. Or, a lot of plain steaks with fries.

Anyone have any experience with the kids menus?


We booked a Cat 12... can't wait to see what room we get. I do have trouble with motion sickness, so the lady said she would make a note for mid ship, low deck. Hope this is the best area and that it works out for me.

We have the main seating as well. We are taking this cruise as our first major vacation with our DS who will be 20 months at the time. There is no way he would make it to the second seating.

I will tell you the servers are very patient and understanding when it comes to the meals. The last time we went they were willing to bring multiple meals and apps if you didn't like what was served. I was trying to be adventurous and ordered a meal that I really ended up not liking and they came over and told me I could get another one and had it out to me in no time. They let the children in our group order off the adult menu when there was stuff on there they really wanted.

We have the late dinner. We had the main dinner in January and are thinking that the late may work better for us since we normally eat a late dinner.
The kids menu is very similar to all Disney Kids menus, Pizza, Chicken Nuggets, Hamburgers, etc. Anyone can eat off the adult or the kids menu.

I'm excited to see what room we will get also!!! We have awhile to wait for that... I think we found out about 30-35 days before we sailed. I won't start looking (every day) until November.

Kids free? Awesome. But we've already paid in full. I guess that was a mistake. I'll call them anyway, mabey I can get an onboard credit.

OH NO! I hope they can credit you back the money. We are still before the paid if full date so technically you can still cancel. Hopefully they don't make you loose your room #
