Any guesses as to what my chances are of getting 2 studios, a 2 BR, or even a GV (wishful thinking!) at the seven-month window at OKW?

January is more apt to have dates available during the 7 month window than most of the other months. I assume there are a lot of people who stay overnight for New year's Eve celebrations but who leave on Jan 1st.

But when we went for NYE and stayed for 10 days after that this past year, the crowds in the parks took almost a full week to really disappear. I pretty much thought that the crowds would drop like a rock the day after NYE but they didn't really drop til the WEEK after.

I'm not sure how this relates to DVC occupancy, but keep in mind that this is the "cheapest" time of year to go.

That said, we have had very good luck with the wait list for the second week of Jan... as long as you get on the wait list early I think your chances are relatively high that you will get what you want!

When we have gone to OKW in January, it has been quite full. In 1997, however, there was someone in our building that got a GV as an exchange just a month out! I was shocked. We always call day by day at the 11 month window for a GV in OKW.

We've been staying at OKW in the first week of Jnauary for the last few years --and I have to agree, it is quite crowded. I, too, thought everyone would leave by January 1 or 2--but no such luck. The Disney Marathon is held around this time and perhaps this is why things stay sooo busy. This year we were there from January 2nd until the 13th and the crowds didn't start to thin out until about the 9th or 19th.I never had reservation problems but since I used the 11 month window, this doesn't tell you much.
