January 1-8

We'll be there that week also. It's the fourth time I've gone the very first week of January. I've always experienced very low crowds, but it often gets cold! The low crowds is one of the reasons I keep going back that week. And by going right after the first, you can still see many of the Christmas decorations (like the Osborne Lights).

Simba's Mom, we will be there the 1-8 also. Will we have time to see all the Christmas decorations before they come down? We're staying at VWL and hope it will still be decorated. I'd like to see the lights and MGM also.

Yes, you'll have a good chance of seeing Christmas decorations. I know that on one of my trips, when I went over to the lodge, the decorations were still up (I THINK that was 1/3/02). Last year I went in December for the first time, after 3 early January trips. I made special note of what I saw that I hadn't seen in early January. CP, Holiday Storytellers, Christmas tree lighting in Epcot (although tree was still up 1/2 one year, but down by 1/4) were all only in December. Also, characters were no longer in "Holiday garb". Only resort decoration I remember in December that I hadn't seen in January was the big Gingerbread house over at GF.
