I finally got DH to agree on a "do-over" Disney trip sometime next year. Budget is set either way but I'm having a hard time deciding between:

End of January/Beginning of February- Kids will be 8, 6 and almost 2.
The baby will be a lap rider on the plane.
Car's Land won't be open yet :(
Lighter crowds because not everything new will be open.

November/December after T-giving- Kids will be 9, almost 7 and 2 1/2.
We'd have to buy a plane ticket for the baby (which I *want* to do but DH doesn't)
Car's land and all the major refurb stuff at DCA will be open? But this also brings more crowds, right?
Christmas stuff is up:lovestruc

So what sounds better?

I would definitely choose the Nov/Dec option because not only is it after Thanksgiving - and that period of time right after Thanksgiving weekend into the first part of December is supposedly the least crowded it will get during the holiday season (while still having everything up and out, decor-wise, food-wise, merchandise-wise, etc.) - but also, sometimes we get a lot of rain in January/Feb. I know that it would seem like we'd get more rain in Nov/Dec - and yes, occasionally it will rain during that time - but the rain that we often get in January or February tends to be heavy, long-lasting, messy rain. It's like our 'delayed winter' rain.

Then you also get Carsland up and running, and all the other major changes to DCA should be complete at that Nov/Dec point too.

Normally I'd say Jan/Feb, but I think it's worth it to wait for carsland to be open!

Nov/Dec 2012

Buying the baby a plane ticket is a no-brainer for me either way (I've always done that for my children since they're safer that way), but it sounds like your husband isn't on board with that. I think the 2.5 year old will have an amazing time at DL at that age--at least my little boy did when he was 2.5, whereas I don't think a trip at almost 2 would be quite as interesting for a young child. (Not that it would be a waste, just not quite as enjoyable.)

I would choose Nov/Dec. 2012. Just like what Sherry said, going after Thanksgiving weekend is one of the least crowded at the DLR during the Holiday season. The Holiday decorations during the Holiday season is so magical and just like you said that Cars Land will be opened when it gets to Nov/Dec. Going to DL during Jan/Feb is the slow season and could rain a lot out there. There are way less people at the parks during the off-season.
