We just got home a few days ago. Because many other trip reports have been helpful/inspirational, I thought that I would give it a go. First, let's start with the essentials.
Who:
Me - DH. The planner of this trip and big WDW fan.
DW - Our original Disney lover. Runner and the reason we have gone at this time 3 years "running". She runs in the half and full (this year) marathons in order to get us down to WDW.
DS5.9 - I may refer to him as 5.9. He is much like his mom in appearance and temperment. Constantly in motion, but not a daredevil. Huge Pirate fan.
DS2.8 - I guess he will be 2.8. He is like me. Wants to be like big brother. Constantly hungry and is a slight daredevil. Huge Cars (the movie, not the band) fan.
DGM - My mother, who didn't need much urging to come despite having to leave my Dad at home. 4th trip to WDW but 1st over 3 days and hasn't been outside MK or Epcot.
Travel Dates: January 5-12, 2007
Resort: Wilderness Lodge, courtyard view. We booked our resort about a month before our trip and were essentially left with WL for a deluxe resort. I had wanted to stay at WL last year, but was out-voted. Deluxe was important to us because of the location, size and amenities. With DME, there is no need to rent a car. Since we visit MK the most, followed by Epcot (usually), a monorail resort is handy.
ADRs: Tony's Town Square, Whispering Canyon, Raglan Road, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, Garden Grille. We were on the dining plan for the 1st time. We debated until 4 days before our trip on whether to do DDP. In the end it seemed worth it, since we would normally do at least 1 TS a day anyway.
Those are the pre-trip facts. I will start the trip tomorrow and hopefully have some pics as well. I will try and give our opinions of the restaurants, rides, etc as well as I am writing the reports. I hope none of you get too bored and find some of the info as useful as I did with other repoprts.
until tomorrow...
