Jan. 22- 29 , 2011 Western Caribean Cruise on the Disney Magic!!!

I was trying to catch up on post last night, told my DH that I hadn't been on in a while and he said that was ,unacceptable especially this close to the cruise:rotfl:

....love the snow,NOT! we wrecked last week (the 31st) . LAST YEAR WAS LONG AND HARD....come on cruise I'm SOOOO ready!!!

got to do school pick up, wish me luck...Haha

"we wrecked..." as in, you wrecked your car?? If the answer is yes, I'm nominating you as the official Person Most in Need of a Vacation. :rotfl:

Seriously, that stinks. You should buy a lottery ticket in 2011, because it HAS to be your year! :flower3:

I am up for that too! I LOVE cards and have some games I am anxious to show you all. I would say it would be more of a sea days thing since we already have morning and evening times set up for port days. Mind you a 3pm time for all days would be fine too, that way if someone stays aboard at a port there is a time set up. The only thing I can't help with is locations being my first Disney crusie.

I'm in! The only thing with setting a pre-arranged time is - will it just be a "cards on these days at these times and show up if you want to play" kind of thing? I wouldn't want to commit and then have something else come up (like a wine tasting...tequila tasting...martini tasting...beer tasting...what? ) and leave anyone hanging.

I agree..I would love to play cards but just don't know if I can commit to a time and place without knowing what else is going on. With this being our first DCL I'm not sure what to expect in terms of activities that I am interested in. I definitely want to do the tequila tasting. When does that generally take place? Evening, afternoon, sea day? Who's coming with me?

Love the idea of meeting for morning coffeees and get togethers. Then we can go over the navigator and see what's on the for the day.

Man, I've been a really slacker on the posts since joining you guys last month.....Christmas did it to me! So excited that the boys finally know about the cruise so that we can talk about everything......and they got to choose ONE park to visit on the day after the cruise, and they picked Universal to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Super excited! Also since we'll be able to hit just ONE MORE Margaritaville before wrapping up the cruise....that'll make FOUR, baby! Nice!

I, too, would love to see a list of meets, etc---I asked about it when I first joined the Meet Thread but never saw anything...? I'm not feeling left out or shafted about it--but would someone toss it my way via PM or Facebook from the DIS Pirates group? :lovestruc

I'd also be down for playing cards on a day at sea....but wouldn't want to miss a tequila, wine or martini tasting either! ;)

Pulled out the suitcases and started the Ziplocs (meds, candy, pens/highlighters, etc) today.....let the pack-o-rama begin! :woohoo:

I want to start by saying....
I AM ON VACATION IN 2 WEEKS!!!

As for the meets... The only one you really need to try to be there for is the first one at 3:00 pm at the Promenade Lounge in case there are any room changes for the FE exchange. All other meet times are just times set for those who are interested in seeing if anyone else wants to get together. I know alot of us are new to the Disney cruise thing like I am and do not want to commit to anything just in case, that is why the meets are flexible. Times and a location will be set for "those people who have nothing else going on and want to get together with someone else". Who knows, there may be a time where someone goes to the meet time and place will be the only one there.

PM Tinkerkell123 and she will be sure to get you a copy of the meet/FE schedule.

One more thing......I would REEEEEEALLY love to do the Castaway Cay 5K!! I wanted to train more than I have.....but truthfully, when I did all the reading up, it looks as though it's all of the time only RUNNERS, and that if you walk/run it alone, that the route is not well marked and you may get a little lost near the the abandoned runway, so I got scared and quit actively training for it! (Prob the reverse of what I should have done....?)

THAT BEING SAID----I would still reeally love to do it if we could get a group together from our group, so that if we DID get a little lost, it wouldn't be so scary!

From what I've read, a small blurb is usually printed in the Navigator the day before CC, and that participants meet down at the gangway at 8:30am, complete the 5K, and receive a certificate (not always!) afterwards, or in their stateroom later that day. I just think it'd be cool to say I did it!! Anyone else willing to walk, then jog, then walk, then jog, walk it with me?!? I'm thinking I'd just send my swimsuit with my DH and meet them on the beach right afterwards.

Anyone? :flower3:

I think there will be plenty of walk/runners out there. I personally am trying to run the entire way. I have been working up and have completed some 10 and several 5K's already. I love to run! I may not look like a runner but I was determined to do it and I did! So now I can honestly say that if I can do it anyone can!
I have convinced my Brother to try and do a little training for it. I know he would like to do it but we'll see when the time comes. He will definitely be a walk/runner if he participates.

I'll do a run/walk combo with you! I am more of a spin class, elliptical machine person but I am in good enough shape to complete this. It will be fun! I guess I better get off the computer and head to the gym...:yay:

Post 1400!!! :)

Way to go!!

Totally agree!!

Makes sense to me...

Okay, so I am thinking if you are interested in playing cards, show up at the 9:30am meet and we can look over navigators and plan a time. What do y'all think? We did the tequila tasting too and loved it! I am definitely up for it again.

Re: meets list. If you want one prior to sailing, just PM me. Otherwise I am planning on having printouts of the meet times/places at the first meet (3:00 Promenade Lounge) for anyone that wants one...

I may not make every 9:30 am meet. With having to eat in the dining room to accomidate Brooke and my gluten free needs, I can't be sure I will be done by 9:30. I guess if I find you I find you...lol.

One other thing I was thinking...
The new wave phones are discribed on another thread and they say you can text other wave phones by cabin number. Well... we will have a list of everyones cabin numbers so if we all try to keep the #1 phones with the adults, we should all be able to text each other if we want to meet up. Just a thought.

Excellent idea!!! :worship: Obviously, you are going to have to get up earlier to make the 9:30 meets! A good vacay is hard work girl! :lmao:

lol It isn't me I expect to sleep in.... but I am sure we will try to make it. I know our dolphin excursion in GC is at 9:15 so I definitley won't make that one and I believe I have a pedi booked for one other morning unless DH makes me go in the city so I don't miss out on anything on the ship. You can always find me by dialing 60321 on my wave phone!!!

2 weeks from tomorrow I have to be in bed by 6:00 pm to be up by 3am so I can be at the airport in time! Kids should enjoy the airport at 4 am! lol

4am! :scared: I am sure the kids will love it!!

BTW - Kevin posted to the DISKids page last night. He said he was exited about the curse! Pretty sure he meant excited about the cruise! :rotfl:

wow if that is true about the phones that will be interesting. We are actually going to be in Orlando 2 weeks from today. Our flight is at 430pm, Will be the first Flight we have taken as a family. Ethan's first flight should be interesting.

thanx so do we, We drove from Va to Orlando Dec 09 spent a week at OKW he did ok on the drive. Wait he rode most of that ride with Melissa's parents. Then we drove from Orlando to LA where my parents live. He was on that trip, did it in like 13 hrs or something. The trip back to VA from LA was a big pain though.

The waves phones will be very handy...

I forgot about the wave phones! Perfect idea!!! We probably won't make the card meets as I hve no idea how to play card games outside of GoFish! And Taylor naps early afternoon so we will probably doing something together in the mornings. But you never know! :)

Good luck on the first flight. How old is Ethan? Taylor, my DD, will turn 3 in April and we have been learning each flight what to do/not to do. One things that were hits were candy necklaces, lollipops, M&Ms, bottled water (bought in airport after security), goldfish or anything he likes that can keep him swallowing during takeoff and landing. The Earplanes never stayed in her ears but you can always try them. When we were in the air I would pull out a new toy, such as those water doodle pads or my DH's iPad with new games or DVDs, ad that would keep her entertained. When all else fails, a walk ip and down the plane is always fun. DD loves attention and would start talking with whoever would start a conversation. Oh and I assume he is pottytrained but insist on going before boarding. If not, change his diaper. I can't tell you how many times I have forgotten and DD has the uncanny ability to do #2 right as we get on the plane. Those little bathroom are fairly impossible to fit an adult and toddler...especially a loud, squirmy one. :)
