Jan '12 It's Cold, Let's Go to Disney!!(NEW 3/27 EP, DHS, AK & Pouts)

Once again a wonderful trip report. The girls looked so thrilled to see that character who shall not be named. The picture of Elie walking away and pouting is so cute. It's funny how the simplest things can put them in little snits.

I think that I would love to go to WDW for Animal Kingdom, and Epcot. I was talking with one of the CMs on our last trip and they are building another park of some sort at DLR. I am hoping for something like Epcot. But, the main guess is that they are going to go with a water park. Boo!

I love our Animation building. Beast's Library and Ursula's Grotto the best. They are so much fun. This trip with the rain it was so busy that the waits were unbearable and both of those parts were closed. I love the characters they get in there. We were able to get some time with Pluto.

Rachel looks so cute with her engineers hat. I can hardly wait until the pre-trip for the mommy-daughter extravaganza starts!

Aw, Elie looked so disappointed she had to wait for Mickey.

It looks like your day was lots of fun, despite it being your last.

You have sugar gliders?? They are so cute. What are they like?

How fun that you are going back! Will be looking for that PTR!

Great trip report! Really enjoyed following along in your family's little adventure. :goodvibes

Thanks for your kind words! I've been really trying to finish this trip report b/c I need to work on the photobook. I had gotten a Mix It Book Groupon ($15 for $50) and it expires next month. Besides, I love reliving our trip!

Yes, they girls just like to rub it in with 'that' character :lmao::rotfl2:

Elie definitely got in a snit. I just didn't expect it. AFter that, she didn't want to see Mickey at all!

I do love MK but AK is our new favorite park and it's hard to imagine a trip without Epcot, too. I'm sure you will love them both once you are able to come East!

I can see DL adding a water park -- trying to get people to extend their vacation to DL for a full week, perhaps, w/o going off-property.

They sound great! Yeah, too bad it rained and everything was so busy. We love seeing the characters but won't wait in long lines...unless it's a very special character.

As soon as I get my photobook done on this January trip, I"l be able to start concentrating more on our July mommy-daughter trip...I can't wait!!:yay:

You got a good deal on the photobook. I always watch for the bargains on the photobooks.

Some day I will get my trip there.

The only reason I wonder about them building a water park is because Knotts Berry Farm has a water park and they aren't 20 miles away. I cannot imagine that the popularity would bring in that many more people. I doubt they would open an Animal Park because San Diego Zoo brings in a lot of people and they will travel for miles just to go to the zoo. Maybe I am just over analyzing it because I want an Epcot type park here.

She was not happy...and never went back to see Mickey after that.

Yep, our last day was another good one. But really, this trip was a LOT of fun ... no bad days (and we usually have one or two)

Sugar gliders are really neat. They bond to you and want to stay with you and on you. It's weird to have them running all around you sometimes but you get used to it.

Thanks for following my TR! It's great to get feedback.:goodvibes

I know! I am thrilled!

And you are the first person that I heard this from!

You got a good deal on the photobook. I always watch for the bargains on the photobooks.

Yeah, me too. I am not familiar with this company and my sister did it too and said it was a real pain. But I enjoy getting really detailed in the photobooks ... matching the font color to the picture colros, adding details, etc. So I'm hoping it's a good program that lets me do that.

Some day I will get my trip there.

Yeah and I hope when you do a bunch of us from the LIFE thread can meet you!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

If the loyal people of DL are anything like the loyal people of WDW, they will go to the new park, just b/c it's Disney. Esp if your AP and/or multi-day, park hopper tickets can be used at it. I know in Orlando there is just sooooooooo much to do outside of Disney, but there is just something (maybe they put something in the water?) that makes you want to stay on-property. I assume it has to do with the whole fantasy of living in a dream world ... and once you step outside and have neon lighted signs, traffic and junk stores, you want to go back.

I also assume that since DL is not separated from "reality" like it is at DL, this may not be that big of an issue.

I heard it from a few different CMs and a couple of other people I know.

DLR is much less insulated as WDW. A lot of people make trips all over the area while they are at DLR. We just go for DLR, well that isn't quite true. We have gone to other parks and Beverly Hills on different trips. That just is not our norm. I honestly hope that it is not a water park.

Sugar Gliders sound like a lot of fun!

I am kind of hoping it isn't a water park too. Although it would still be fun if it was, I prefer more rides and things to see and do.

Thanks so much for sharing your TR with us. As usual, it was a great read with a ton of great pics

I love the one with all of you and Marie..so cute

Rachel makes the best mean faces, like in the one with evil queen

Girls did great job on the drawings and You and Jerry, too of course :thumbsup2

Poor Ele getting so upset after not being able to see Mickey right away...kids are too funny

Will be looking forward to your next pre trip :surfweb:

If/when we go out to DL, I'm hoping to take in some other sites, too, besides Disney.

Rachel is good at her mean faces.

I'm glad you enjoyed this TR. They are fun to do (but time-consuming!)

I'll let you all know when my next PTR is started. Right now I am looking at ways to cut back in case they don't do an AP room only discount and if Amtrak doesn't do their $19/kid fare. I was hoping to have it by now...maybe in April.

So I finally get caught up and now it's over :guilty:

I so enjoyed all the last posts...just spent the last 1/2 hour catching up as the kids were eating breakfast and playing quietly :thumbsup2

Just love all the fun you had and it did sound so relaxed and enjoyable...

Love the views from the balloon ride at DTD...Matt would never do that so it was so cool to see how it looks from up there :thumbsup2

The PP pictures of Ellie jumping up and down and the balloon shots are just too fun...

Loved this TR and will be back to ck out your new PTR when you begin that too

J

Loved actually seeing ALL the pics from your last day now! Yay!

I would say that Elie & Jerry are making just about the same face in this one! :)

Aww poor Elie, that picture just says it all. But you’d promised Rachel a pic with Mickey by herself. Poor Elie just didn’t understand that she could come RIGHT back. Aww!!

Such a great great last morning at DHS! Those drawings were awesome. I remember when you had to skip out on the drawing class on a prior trip so you could feed Elie! Now she’s drawing on her own. It’s amazing watching them grow.

That’s great that you caught Devine. I’ve never actually seen her in person.

The snacks in the lounge car look great! I don’t think I would eat my dinner! LOL

I'm sad that your TR is over....but I'm VERY excited for your Mommy & Me PTR to begin soon!

Thanks for posting this. It was so nice to meet you and get a big hug from you while on vacation.

We had an absolute blast at the Disney Junior Dance Party. I am so glad you told me about it. Edward just loved the freedom of dancing around after holding our hands all day.

And Paul and I found a beer at Fairfax Faire afterwards .;)

I finally started my trip report today. It is just tacked on to the pretrip one and the link is in my signature.

Such a great trip! Your girls are beautiful and you and your husband are smiling so much.

You must have been leaving Epcot on 1/27 just when we were getting there, because the rain had stopped recently. I still have dreams of those desserts at the caramel kitchen in Germany, BTW.

Thanks! Yes, this vacation was one of our best ones ... and surprise, surprise, I didn't go Commando ...wonder if there is a connection?!? :rotfl:

The balloon ride was fun. I'm glad we went...would like to do it again in a few years but at dusk or during fireworks.

Elie is very photogenic!

I hope to start our new July PTR soon. Rachel and I just reworked our whole plans this weekend!

Loved actually seeing ALL the pics from your last day now! Yay!

thanks! It was fun to see them all again, too!

You are right!

Aww poor Elie, that picture just says it all. But you’d promised Rachel a pic with Mickey by herself. Poor Elie just didn’t understand that she could come RIGHT back. Aww!!

It was such a 180 degree turn-around for her. In a matter of 3 seconds she went from jumping on cloud nine to devastated and rejected.

Such a great great last morning at DHS! Those drawings were awesome. I remember when you had to skip out on the drawing class on a prior trip so you could feed Elie! Now she’s drawing on her own. It’s amazing watching them grow.

What a great memory! Yes, I remember having to skip the drawing, too! This time Jerry was in charge of Elie so I could draw .. .but turns out that she was perfectly fine herself!

That’s great that you caught Devine. I’ve never actually seen her in person.

The snacks in the lounge car look great! I don’t think I would eat my dinner! LOL

Yeah, we did tend to fill up on those snacks. I really wish we could wait until the 7pm dinner service but we tried that 2x and it's just too late for the girls.

I'm sad that your TR is over....but I'm VERY excited for your Mommy & Me PTR to begin soon!

Thanks for joining in! I do admit there is something about hitting the "submit reply" button for the last time for the TR. Guess it means the trip is really over:laughing:

Thanks for posting this. It was so nice to meet you and get a big hug from you while on vacation.

Yay! I was hoping you'd come and check out the TR, if for nothing else but to see our pic. I loved meeting you and your parents.

We had an absolute blast at the Disney Junior Dance Party. I am so glad you told me about it. Edward just loved the freedom of dancing around after holding our hands all day.

So glad that Edward had fun! Rachel and Elizabeth loved it too. I'm glad we decided to go to it! We'll definitely do it again.

And Paul and I found a beer at Fairfax Faire afterwards .;)

Good for you! We enjoyed the food there!

I finally started my trip report today. It is just tacked on to the pretrip one and the link is in my signature.

yep, I saw that you had updated it and already replied!

Such a great trip! Your girls are beautiful and you and your husband are smiling so much.

This was a good trip. If you've read any of my past TR, there is always "THAT DAY" for Jerry and I. usually about day #4 or 5 where Jerry gets cranky and I'm probably tired, too but still want to see more. It usually doesn't end well.

But this trip, Jerry told me that he was really going to try to be better about the whole trip, esp b/c he knows that I"m not going commando.

I forget that Jerry is not used to be around me or the girls 24/7 so what I just take for granted, can get to him more.

Yep, didn't we see each other on 1/27 outside of Mexico? We were leaving and I heard my name! So fun to meet/see Dissers in the park.

Now between the candy in Germany and the pastries in France along with the OGM, i'm definitely going to be gaining weight in Epcot!
