Please share your experiences staying off-site during the busy New Year time. We have GCH booked but can get 2 connecting rooms at the Westin for several thousands less, so we are now considering off-site. I'm curious how security lines are in the morning (likely around 9am) and the general process of getting into the parks. We would have club-level at GCH so would now likely spend the entire day in the parks so the ease of mobile ordering during this busy time will also be important.

Thank you for any input!

Mobile ordering is very easy at DLR. However, if the parks are crowded, your best bet is to order early and set a pick up time for later in the day.

Security around 9 am shouldn't be bad at all. There is usually a line before security opens at 7 am. Once the EE and rope droppers get into the parks, security has been moving quickly.

To me, if I was planning on spending the majority of my day in the parks, I could do a lot with the several thousand that I saved on a hotel. You could do a VIP tour or the LLPP for several thousand. You could eat at Carthay Circle, Napa Rose and Blue Bayou. You could do reserved seating for entertainment. Shoot, you could even Uber/Lyft back and forth from the hotel to the parks. It depends on your priorities.
