Sam said she was glad to see the bobsled was connected to the adult because she didn't want to drive it by herself. HOW COOL does that Amazing race tour look???!! I wish Julie hadn't switched, but at least she made her own choice about schooling.

Honestly, I went back and forth on switching this cruise, but I'm here to stay. Sam gets really sick often throughout the year. So she misses a lot of school. I really don't want to pull her out 4 days beginning of school only to have her out for 3-4 weeks come winter. But, switching would cost me 2k more, so I am here to stay :)

I just booked June tour of Spain, Morocco and Portugal. I'm really excited as that will be 6 of the 7 continents. YAY!!

I was just reading Bobsled reviews on Trip Advisor and found this interesting comment:

Bobsleds can be linked, and you go faster if you have bobsleds hooked up!

I'm not sure if I'd want to be hooked to my hubby... I bet he wouldn't use the brakes at all.

We can't wait, we also want to do the bobsledding.

I need to call United today and switch my dining to the later time. Sam said she doesn't want to get up at 5am to eat breakfast on the last day. ;)

YAY!! I am so glad you guys want to do the bobsledding as well. We had a ticket to go on a toboggan down the Great Wall. But as we were leaving, it started to rain, so we didn't get the chance. Bobsled looks like so much fun!!

:eek::eek:

I'll use the brakes with Sam for sure. She likes roller coasters, but it's me that gets more anxious when it is me that has to control the thing.

What are you going to do with Sabrina while you eat dinner at Palo?

What are you going to do with Sabrina while you eat dinner at Palo?

Hummmm... in 2009 our friends were married on the Magic. Our awesome servering team overheard we parents were going to Palo the next night. They said our girls (both age 9) should come to dinner without us, and they'd take special care of them. We seated the girls at Lumiere's then headed up to dinner. Chuck and the other dad headed down between our dinner and dessert to move them to the Oceaneers Lab. It worked out great.

Last fall we were on the Wonder. When we escaped to Palo for dinner, Sabrina hung out with her DISfriends at the Edge. They grabbed burgers on the top deck. When we did the Palo brunch, we all had a little breakfast together, then Chuck and I enjoyed a late seating for brunch.

It might depend on who our table-mates are and which dining room it is, but I'm thinking she'll be eating pizza with her DISfriends that evening :dance3:

I forgot... we've never been on one of the new ships. I'm thinking we need to go to Remy :flower3:

Any comments on Remy and Palo on Fantasy/Dream vs. Palo on Magic/Wonder?

Are you usually seated with other families? I know when I went on the 3 day cruise with my mom and my two girls, we were seated at a 4 top. When I went with just one other kid, we sat at a table with other single parents/grandparents.

When you stay concierge, they tend to seat you by yourself unless you request to seat with someone else.

Personally, I'm ok with this. We didn't enjoy our table mates that we had on our 4 night cruise.

In 2004, we were seated with another couple with a daughter Sabrina's age (3-1/2). Both Sabrina and their little girls wore princess dresses nearly every night. Too cute. In 2005, we were with a family of 5 at an 8 top... it was nice.

In 2006, we did a Halloween cruise with my friend Mary and her daughter. 2009 was the wedding cruise. We were seated with Mary, her fiance/hubby and our kids.

Last fall, we were at a 8-top alone... rather depressing. Our service team kep it set for 8 for the first few days. I'm guessing the other family switched to early dining.... or lived at the buffet. One DISfriend mother-daughter pair were seated with a mom-son. The kids ended up being best pals!

:tink: I'm hoping for a Magic match up this time... We love meeting new people.

I certainly didn't mind the table mates at times, but it was only a 3 day cruise. Sam had a little girl that was 9 at the table, so I guess that helped. But the other kids were no where near her age and while I was able to talk to them, Sam wouldn't say a word.

She is a little better now but on a 7 night cruise, she might open up a little more. I love hanging out with my kid, so it would be fine with me if we sat by ourselves. I would be miserable if she was my only company and she was falling asleep every night. :rotfl: She seems to be able to stay up a little later than she used to, although she will still fall asleep on the way home from school.

Were they offensive or rude or just not your type of people?

I had not my type of people for most of the table when I was with other single parents. The parent with the 9yo was ok and they were all pleasant enough, just no one I would buddy up with.
