While we were in Florida James thought he would try to impress Brandie and Jen, and he ran to get the car in the DHS parking lot. Brandie was afraid of the other traffic, so she parked in the last parking spot available way out in the boonies. He started running and the second step he took something popped in his foot. Of course, being a man and trying to impress he kept on running. He took it easy the next day, but it was still hurting.

Now it is January 13, and I finally convinced him to go to the doctor. He found out he has Achilles Tendinitis. Why did this happen? Because he is old and old guys should not start sprinting - even if there are girls to impress. Instead, he must start out at a brisk pace and work his way up to that run.

Luckily, he should be able to fix it by doing some stretches. We're going to hope that works because the other advice - keep off your feet and buy ugly shoes - is not going to work with him.

Sorry he got hurt but that is funny...trying to impress the girls!!

Sorry to hear about that. Hope he gets well soon.

So, are you blaming Brandie and Jen for this? ;)

Yes, completely. It's more Jen than Brandie. Jen was skipping to her lou with James on our way out of the park, and I think that really impressed him.

Hi Nicole! I'm so glad he went to the Dr today. It sounds similar to what I am doing. I went for my first 30 min walk yesterday since I hurt myself. I hope he heel pretty fast.

I am sorry to hear that James was hurt trying to impress woman. Men.

Glad it is not to serious. I guess getting old is better then the alternative!

:lmao: You mean I missed James skipping!
Glad to hear it was more Jen's fault. Poor Brandie had already taken a "beat-down" from Chris on TSM. Getting blamed for this would have been adding insult to injury. :upsidedow

Poor James. :sad1::sad1:

I'm sure you're doing you're wifely duties Nicole and rubbing his foot when ever he asks.

On second thought, maybe Jen should be doing this since she is the cause. :lmao:

I'm taking James' side in this. I can relate.

After a long first day in WDW, my "less than young" feet were protesting so I grabbed my hiking stick and used it for the rest of the trip (and no, it didn't get me to the front of any lines).

DD and I were in the TSM line (after the stairs) when the fellow in front of us dropped his glasses and they fell across the railing. Having some manners, I used my hiking stick to drag them back to where I could retrieve them.

A moment later, I hear the fellow's young son telling their party that Dad dropped his glasses but that the "old man" got them back.

The Dr told me I was "old" too. :scared1: I think I'll get a second opinion! :goodvibes

I'm sorry I missed that one! That would have been funny to see. Sorry James is hurt, but...:rotfl2:

You missed Jen skipping, too. It was rather cute :)

The doctor offered to put it on his "orders" that I needed to give him nightly foot rubs. I do it often enough. He can't complain.

I was afraid of the other cars? :lmao: I say that we blame the CM who wouldn't let us park closer!!

I hope poor James feels better soon...

If it's any consolation, I was mighty impressed...:flower3:

Sounds FUNNY!...He got it because he was trying to impress the girls?..I think he should think first before he act..:littleangel:
