The Plan
2nd day at Islands of Adventure, Evening meal at citywalk then movie.
The Reality
We set off early and enjoyed listening to MJ on 93.3 Flz. It was so funny that we stayed in the car when we reached Universal to hear the end. I still listen to MJ on www.mjmorningshow.com. We did the usual multiple rides of Hulk, Spidey and Dr Doom. It always amuses me the amount of lost shoes you see on the roof around Dr Doom. We didnt do the water rides today as the weather wasnt great and you get very wet on Popeye. On passing Dudley Do Right we noticed there werent any logs running. When we passed the exit there appeared to be a woman stuck in one of the logs and two maintenance guys were pulling her out. You do need strong arm muscles to get out of these due to the seating position.
When we were here two years ago we wanted to eat at Green Eggs and Ham but had pizza instead. Since we had missed it last time we were both looking forward to eating there. Unfortunately it was closed so we will have to try next time. As it was so quiet we moved on to Universal at midday to do the more popular rides.
We rode the new rides Shrek 4D, Return of the Mummy and Jimmy Neutron. As it wasnt busy we rode Return of the Mummy three times. We walked round to MIB and noticed that Jaws was closed for refurbishment and wouldnt reopen until after we had returned home. After doing MIB a couple of times we headed back to Return of the Mummy only to find it closed and all the staff out in the street. While we were deciding what to do members of the emergency services went in through a fire exit. When we got home we saw on the internet it was closed due to someone falling off the front of the ride.
The two parks were so quiet we made ourselves sick by riding the attractions so many times in a row and we were bored by 4 oclock. We decided to head off to the supermarket to find some Jelly Bellies. We must have hit rush hour because we sat in a queue of traffic that was longer than any of the lines in the parks. We finally got to the supermarket and found they had a pick n mix Jelly Belly stand $12 later we headed back to POR.
I had wanted to hire one of those four wheeled bikes but they were all locked up for the night. We spent some time in the arcade playing air hockey then went to the shop to collect our free pins and lanyards. We ate in the hotel for the first and only time and had a reasonably early night.
