Thanks, Kimmar067. You rock! Hey, I just read your "don't want to be an american idiot" marque. Apparently, you really do rock. If memory serves me, that's the lyrics to a Green Day song. Rock on! :cool1:

:teeth:

We never even MADE IT OVER to Ft W!! Once we checked into AKL, we thought : "THIS is the place to stay!!" Thankfully, we were able to get a room and they transferred our deposit from Ft W and credited towards the AKL bill.... :teeth:

I just wanted to say I agree with you 100%...The WL is still #1 in my book, but AKL runs a close second! I think if AKL was more centrally located I would be torn as to which resort to stay at. I think the restaurants...including mara...are the best on WDW property. And I love that pool!

Glad you had a good time!

Tell me more about the pool, please? I'm concerned that the slide will be kind of lame. I read that it is "small" and I was hoping for a lot more for my kids. I know that no pool compares to Stormalong, but was hoping that it might be a close second? Or, maybe third after the Poly? What do you pool experts out there have to say!!

The pool slide is smaller and I believe has one curve to it. It was perfect for littler ones although adults were going down too. My DD-5 thought it was fast!! Obviously, you can't even compare this one like the one at SAB. I'm sure it's hard for Disney to have to make a pool slide all kids would enjoy because if it's too big the littler ones can't enjoy too!

It sounds a bit like the one at POR. Has anyone tried out both of them? I thought the deluxes in general had bigger slides than the moderates. Anyone have a picture they could post?

....Uh, TOMORROW that is!

on your AKL room. I am considering the jump from value to deluxe and wondered what a standard room might be with a discount/code?

They didn't have any standard rooms or pool rooms available for my dates (4/30-5/7), but I got a savanah room for $219 a night with ap rate. :teeth:

I love the picture of your son! He is the spitting image of our hockey coach's son! Sure you don't live in Michigan? :)

Ok, I've waited patiently.... where are my ankole? :) pretty please?

...that pic for the 2n page of my WDW scrapbook that I am putting together! Either I will scan the whole page, or I can make another copy of that pic and scan that...okay  ??

I have a question on the deluxe rooms at AKL. Do both the savannah deluxe and pool view deluxe sleep 5? Thanks.

....have a couch that opens up to accomodate the 5th person.... :) .

Thanks, Kimmar! I desperately need something to get me in the mood for our trip. My Father lost his battle with lung cancer almost 3 weeks ago, and it's so hard to get excited over our upcoming trip (but I'm trying). I know Dad would want us all to have a great time!
Thanks for the link! :)
