3/4 ounce Malibu Rum
3/4 ounce Melon Liquor
2 ounces Sour or Daiquiri Mix
4 ounces Pineapple Juice

Shake together over ice. Splash with 1/4 ounce of Chambord.
Garnish with an orange slice and cherry.

If anyone makes one, please let me know how it turns out.

I did not know that....very interesting.

We were in AKL CL two weeks ago and we had the best room ever....Room 5425.

Room is real close to the Lobby without being too close. You have a great view of Arusha rock and you have a good view of all the feeding areas.

As soon as I can figure out how to post pictures I will.

Thank you for the pictures Scoutsmom. They are great and give us all some areas not seen very often in photos. Do you have any idea what was the Hot Air Ballon meet was all about? Was it in WDW?

My DD and DSIL are going to at AKL in 10 days. Must remember to tell them to get some Zebra Doms.

I have pictures I need to post as soon as my DH gets them downloaded from our last trip.

Angel16 Thanks I'm not sure where the exactly the hot air balloons came from we just woke up one morning and there they were drifting past our vista!! I'm assumimg that it was not at WDW, but maybe somewhere nearby does hot air balloon rides or maybe it was some type of balloonist club.

I belive the hot air balloons may have been from Orlando area. There is a place there where you can take a sunrise trip and it flys over the park from what I understand. You see them a lot of mornings early from your balconys at the AKL or so that has been our experience.

I saw the hot air balloons one morning this past June from Pop too. Hopefully we'll see them again this year at AKL too!

How cool about the balloons, last July we stayed offsite and every morning watched those balloons from our balcony..what a peaceful thing it was..

WOW ~~~ Love those pics!!!! That gives me a really good idea of what Mara is like!!! It'll be perfect for us for breakfast........ we aren't big breakfast eaters........ I think we'll try Boma for breakfast once, but Mara the rest of the time! I'm sooooo excited to get there........... I can hardly wait!!!


Tink10 ~~~ I know you are ready to go!!!!!!! My sister is in Neekoosa, she says it's FREEZING!!!! She actually slipped on the ice yesterday and broke her arm!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I know you are looking forward to some "warmer" weather!!!! Me too, it's cold here today!!!

I have two questions that I'm hoping some AKL concierge veterans might be able to help me out with:

1) are the concierge rooms "standard" or "deluxe" rooms?
2) is the Sunrise Safari only offered on certain days of the week, or is it offered every day?

Concierges are standard rooms and SS is offered on Thursday and Sundays.

Ok you guys seem to be the experts on this place, and we are planning our first stay at AKL in December. When booking the room, what should I request.

I know I want a Savannah view, but I would like to be close to the bus stop and the restaurants.

So share your knowledge with me, pleeze!!!

I would opt for an upper floor pool-view room....this way you will be high enough to see animals, get great views of the pool area, and you probably won't be too far out on one of the trails, so far away from the bus, Mara, Zawadi Marketplace, etc....

I'm very ready to go.....It's been pretty chilly here but is supposed to warm up to almost 50 by the weekend!!! I'm so sorry about your sister's accident. I hope she's ok & heals quickly....
