Thank You for SHARING! This is a great a escape...

I can't really take any credit (other than for posting the link). It's on the AKL page (and I think it's been there for a bit) on the WDW info (aka DIS) main site.

:)

I agree, though.....it's a nice escape during my lunch break.

Thanks for this link - I had not seen this one before! Wishing away the next 5 months!!! :lmao:

Looks like you guys will be there just about a month before we will.....

And I'm doing the same thing!

Yea thanks for the movie. I will have the filet with mac and cheese please:)
I think the animals were trying to me something;)

I'm so excited! I booked one day at a Club level room on the end on my Poly stay so I could do the Sunrise Safari. I was trying for what seems like ages to add another day so I wouldn't have to leave for the airport right after the safari, and today I finally got it!! :cool1:

Can anyone tell me where the Club level rooms are located? I just have a standard club level.

This will be the first time I visit the AKL.. any tips for a first timer?

I am really bummed about not having any more deluxe rooms because our whole family is coming in May 2008. I wanted them to experience what we did this past Summer. Pilferk helped me out with some questions a while back and I have one more-we would not even be able to stay concierge with 5 w/o 2 rooms, right?

Thanks

You mean standard club level rooms are savannah view? I didn't know that! :goodvibes

Someone on this thread posted that all club level rooms are now savannah view. We always stay on the Arusha Savannah--great view with plenty of animals. With construction going on at the Lodge, I don't know if this is still a good choice.

When I talked to Don a few days ago, he said the Sunset Savannah would be the only one affected.

Correct, sort of.

You could try to book AKv concierge 1 BR (which sleeps 5) through CRO (assuming they hold back even one of the DVC concierge lock offs for CRO), but inventory is SOOO limited I think that's a tough road to follow. You could also rent points and try to book a full stay in an AKV 1BR, but...again, the inventory amount is so small compared to what we think demand will be....your owner is going to have to call day by day and even then they'll have to do some "magic" to try to get you a whole stay.

So, ultimately, yes.....the easiest, most sure way to get 5 at AKL, concierge or otherwise, is 2 rooms.

Well......

You know how Disney LOVES to pull the rug out from under us all?

They did it again...and likley not many people noticed.

Here's the way it WAS set up:

All non-smoking standard concierge rooms on 4 were savannah view. All the smoking standard concierge rooms on 4 were pool view.

And Disney just decreed that ALL resort rooms are now non-smoking.

I'm sure you can guess what that means.

There are now, once again, some (though it's a much lower % than it was) non-savannah view standard concierge rooms.

:confused3

Does anyone know if the construction will be going on during the weekend? Don has assured me that the construction noise will be minimal we are staying in October from a Wednesday and leaving on Sat morning. Should I consider going for that weekend? Are the parks more crowded and the resorts and such? I have heard a few people here say that babies have ruined their Sunrise Safari and we can only book one because of our stay, so would that be less likely to happen on Thursday?

Nothing on the Sunrise Safari, but on crowds in the parks. Saturday is actually supposed to be a good day for MK as it is considered to be a travel day for most families. I would recommend to look at the official website of the Unofficial Guide (if you do a google search with the term "unofficial guide to walt disney world" including the quotation marks it comes up as first choice) where they have a great crowd calender which tells you which crowd level to expect each day and which park is recommended for each day. If you are considering buying Tourguide Mike, he has information like this too. We used both on our last trip and were very happy with both recommendations!

Hmmmm - I see the filter is working. Look at all the ***'s!

You should have seen what happened last night. COM and DOT were filtered which made a mess of everyone's posts & their signatures! Welcome was Wel***e; upcoming was up***ing! Startled lots of us!! Thank goodness they fixed it quickly!

Ah! And I was wondering, why people on a different thread were discussing about not being able to see the pictures while I could see them very well!! I uses a different approach now, hope this is okay!

:rotfl: I'm sure the posts made during the "computer glitch" made no sense at all once the problem was fixed!! I discovered that these threads are extremely hard to read when DOT and COM are censored! :rotfl2:

We have been booked for 3 rooms 9-22 to 9-27 Savannah View. I have an annual pass, but when they released the codes, my TA said nothing available and all Deluxes sold out! I really want to stay at AKL, but no AP rates available even at the resorts posted??????:confused3 . I even tried to switch back to free dining but my TA said no availability:mad:. RACK RATE in September:guilty: I have two other families going for the first time and this is just driving me crazy:eek: I was hoping to get some kind of break.
